Just checking out the Boggy creek airboat rides. Anyone know if they are worth the trip away from the parks and if so which location of the two is the better one ?
cheers (again)
John

Just popping this over to 'Beyond the Parks'...
Great, throughly enjoyed it. Will be going again.
We also had a poll about this a while back here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&forumid=52&threadid=10844)
Also - if you scroll to the bottom of the browser window you'll see a list of other threads that match your question.

A MUST see event - probably best to go early in the day (due to the temperature) - it's a fantastic experience. One of their drivers (Captains) has posted on the DIBB, so they know of our existence too.
We went to the Eastern one (the one described in the Brit Guide) - I've forgotten the exact location though, sorry.
Saw this thread before I went...wow...what an experience, it was brilliant - lasts about 30 - 40 mins...do go early in the morning though if you want to see gators.....or take the night trip, but you'll need to book in advance for that one.
We went to the one at East Lake Fish Camp, we booked for the 11:05 boat ride and then went up the resteraunt which served the most AMAZING breakfast, we finished that and jumped on the airboat with Captain Jack and it was the most thrillling experence, A must do in FL!

I'm assuming that 9.30 will be early enough - that's when we're planning to be there when we do it!
I wonder if it depends on the time of year though? As its not so hot in October, maybe the wildlife is more visible in the middle of the day? I think we need the advice of an expert!
I haven't been back to do this since my first trip.
How do you book in advance ?Are there lots of companies that do airboat rides?
Karen
I haven't been to Boggy Creek but EVERYONE raves about them so I'd go with them. I cannot for the life of me remember the web address. Hopefully someone will point you in the right direction.

Taking Mother-in-law on an air boat. Now there's an idea! Just have to up her insurance a bit first, only precautionary of course but you never know. All those Gators about and she might just loose her balance!:D

on what I promised above. Unfortunatelly the discount will only be accepted with our drivers or with a 25% off gift certificate they are sending me. They explained that because of "word of mouth" they couldn't agree on only mentioning our name.
I feel bad to go back on my word... Sorry to all.
What I might do though is send the gift certificates to your hotel if you want to drive yourselves, or we could meet somewhere...
Sorry again for the misunderstanding.
Regards.
Gregory.
Dont worry about it Gregory..
