:( :( :( HOW DEEP IN THE WATER? :( :( :(
Could someone please tell me how deep the water is when your stood with the Dolphins in Discovery Cove?.
I am not the best swimmer in the world and HATE being out of my depth. I know they give out floatation jackets but I'm still petrified!
We go on 4th October and I would like some (well quite a lot really) reassurance!
I really don't want to miss out on this because of my fears.

The guy on the holiday programme on Monday was standing upto his waist in the water and the dolphin was still right up close to him - don't know if this was just for filming purposes or not though.

You will be up to your waist for most of the swim. When the dolphin pulls you in though you have to go out of your depth, you could always skip this part if you don't like deep water and have more interaction in the shallow water.

I think I'll skip the pulling along and go for the shallow end.
I'm 5 foot 5 inch so I'm not the little just very very very scared of deep water!:(

Hi Wendy, my wife is just like you A SCARDY CAT -- LOL -- And loved Discovery Cove. Whilst the water was deep - Jules didn't even use the flotation jacket - just the wetsuit was enough to keep her afloat. You can always mention to the trainer that you're a bit scared - jules did - and they can keep you at the shallow part at the side and the dolphins will still come over to you. If you feel a bit more confident then you can try wading out a bit further. Jules is a real big chicken when it comes to being in the water and she went into the middle and allowed the dolphin to pull her back to the side. She just loved it !!!!
Go on try it you'll love it :wink

I'm sure if you get into difficulties the dolphin will save you ;) I'm more concerned about being the first tourist to get bitten by the dolphins;) .

hi Wendy,
Just to reiterate what has been said - my better half, Tracy is another littlun - only five foot two - and she is not that strong a swimmer either but she was completely bowled over by the whole experience of swimming with those magnificent animals.
The people who work there are excellent at putting you totally at ease and they will talk you through step by step what happens and also are right by your side all the time.
Honestly, you will be perfectly fine here. Go ahead and enjoy yourself.
Hope this helps.
Pete and Tracy
