Shrek 4D - is Now Open
If your a fan of the film, then you really don’t want to miss Shrek 4D... in OgreVision. For all purposes this 12 minute film serves as Shrek 1.5, taking place just after the end of the film with our newlywed Ogres on the way to their honeymoon in the Onion Coach. Of course the fun starts much earlier than this... out in the queue you’re presented with a ton of fun little signs to laugh about like the Donkbo ride, Lord Farquad’s Enchanted Tick Room (in Parasiteland) and many more.
The pre-show room takes place in a great looking dungeon where Pinnoccio, Gingerbread Man and the three little pigs are all imprisoned. The Magic Mirror warns you to leave before the ghost of Lord Farquad returns, but you know that isn’t going to happen, so your off to the theater. The 300 seat theater looks pretty much like any other 4D Theater you’ve been too... and to be honest, the majority of the special effects used are things you may have seen in other films as well. What makes Shrek 4D really stand out in the amazingly fun and very bouncy seat system used and the ultra crisp clarity of the screen images provided by a series of four digital projectors. The images and colors are incredible and there are several laugh out loud moments in the film. One sequence in particular had me nearly in tears when they recreated the Death Star trench run from Star Wars and Disney’s Star Tours. “This is Red Dragon... I’m going in!” Shrek is an attraction that you just don’t want to miss.
