If you're going to Busch Gardens....definitely miss Gwazi the wooden coaster...that wins hands down for the most back jarring ride ever IMO

I know this is pathetic, but the Shrek ride did my neck in for a few days, very jolty.

The spinning one at AK I think it is called tricepitopspin or something, that really throws you around, (great fun though)

I would probably also avoid Hulk - it threw my head around quite a bit. I know that's not your back, but your spinal cord is attached to it.... :tounge:

Yes, this ride really jarred my neck - even though it looked quite tame.
Didn't do Aerosmith rollercoaster because DD said it hurt her neck, so took the wise move and gave it a miss.

Is it Primevil Whirl you mean? If it is I agree.....:)

Don't laugh...

Cat in the Hat.

I told you all not to laugh.

The first time I went on it I was just coming to the end of the warning notice about the ride spinning suddenly when it spun suddenly taking my body with it but leaving my head behind. Couldn't move my neck properly for the rest of the day.

You're still laughing aren't you. :confused2

Splash Mountain in MK when we reached the top and shot down the the huge scary drop at the end it jarred my back big time, this pain stayed with me for the rest of the holiday, niggled at me all day especially when you are walking around all day.

I suffer with lower back pain (sacro illiac -sp?). The one ride that does my back in is space mountain and I may not do that next time. Also, ToT jolted me and - unless they have put the bars back in - I don't think I'll go on it because I need something to brace myself against. Shame 'cos I love the ride. Now I found that the Aerosmith ride was lovely! Soooooo comfortable. Guess everyone's different.

I agree, I have told my lot that I am never going back on that ride ever again. They talked me into it again last year after first going on it in 2004, and it was worse than I remembered from the first time  Sore back, bum and neck and OMG I never realised that a wooden roller coaster could go so fast.:omg:

I find all the simulation rides a bit painful - the one at the Arctic in Seaworld, BTTF (which thankfully has now gone) and Star Tours I don't however have any problems on the big rides like Kraken, Montu and Sheikra.

I agree with Floridafan, I found Space Mountain to be the jerkiest ride I encountered. I also wouldn't rush to do it again.

I have an old whiplash injury and an occasional lower back stiffness - find the rides (and I do all the coasters over there) incredibly smooth compared to jolty things here - the exceptions being Gwazi at Busch - incredibly rattly and last time on the Rock and Roller Coaster in MGM (previously found it fine).
Back to the Future was also hell on your neck but that has closed now thank goodness.

Rock and roller coaster was quite a joltey ride from what I can remember.

DH has a spinal injury,Dudley do right and Big Thunder cause him problems, the big coasters are very smooth, but, he says the absolute worst of all is ITTBAB believe it or not, as the "stinger" hits right on one of his injury spots. Advises you stick something behind you on the seat there.

I went on the dinosoar ride at AK on my honeymoon and hurt my neck. It wasn't the ride that was bumpy but I flinched when the huge dinosoar came out of the celing at the end and I pulled the muscle in the left hand side of my neck.:blush:

It was SOOOOO painful!!!!

and I'm sure it was Gwazi that gave me vertigo (or at least pushed me over the edge). My head was bouncing around all over the place and had a really bad headache and then started to feel really dizzy a couple of hours later. Spent the final 4 days of the holiday laying in bed because I was stumbling all over the place and then had 4 weeks off work when I got back.

I'm certainly not going on any wooden coasters again !

The SMOOTHEST ride by far is Kraken at SeaWorld - as long as you don't mind the first drop ! - no bumps or bruises, just fast gliding ! :cool2:

My DH never had a neck problem till he went on Shrek, that is one bumpy ride. So much he had to visit the hospital on return and have his neck X-rayed, they said he has suffered Whiplash!

Im not a coaster person, preferring to stick to the more 'tame' rides, but I found the Tower of Terror gave me a really dodgy back!!

My DH loves all the big rides and never has a problem except for space mountain which has done his back twice now and he won't go on it any more, he is fine with R&R TOT, Sheikra etc

oh yes I forgot, Dudley Do Right, I thought I had done my neck a serious injury when I got off that one, wouldn't go near it again, I think the problem was on the last drop i tensed the muscles in my neck (as in Deidre Barlow esque style:omg:) and it hurt sooooo much :nonono:

what is ITTBAB?:confused2

Kraken is seriously shmooooth.....and I agree with what everyone says about Gwazi at BG. I have never felt so sick and battered about in my life after suffering this ride. Space mountain doesn't suit me either, probably because I'm fairly tall.

Cat in a hat ..... it was absolutely dreadful on my back and I don't suffer from back problems particularly. In fact the family we went with - their daughter lost her hat!!!

Personally I think that, Wild Artic, at SeaWorld is about the roughest ride we have been on and last year it seemed like they had made it even rougher than ever.

Gwazi, at Busch Gardens is also a very rough coaster and can jar you around a lot.

As far as I am concerned RnR is the worst rollercoaster in the universe (controversial I know!). Every time I have gone on my neck and back have been a mess. You dont just get knocked around, you get thrown around. I tried my best to keep myself upright last year but once again I came off battered and bruised. Hulk, I found smooth and in no way jolted me around. D.Dragons was OK too but Kraken (which I dont mind ) was quite bumpy too.

Worst for me was Everest - I thought I would end up with whiplash. And Gwazi is bad too. I managed to break my toenail vertically on that one :(
