Does Disney still restrict access to Downtown Disney via their transportation system? Last time I was there you couldn't go direct from park to DTD, you had to go to a resort and then reconnect. I think this was to stop people parking more cheaply at DTD and then making their way to a park.

Hi,

I'm sure that is the same, you can't get a bus from DTD to any of the theme parks. You are right it is to stop people parking for free at DTD.

For water parks TL & BB are you meant to park at DTD or do they have their own car parks?

Yes you are right you cannot get a bus direct to the parks from downtown disney, you have to hop on a resort bus then a bus from resort to the park of your choice. It is a lot of faffing about and wastes a lot of your time.

They have their own car parks
Parking at both of these is free:thumbs-up

If you want to go to DTD from Epcot, you can walk through the side entrance and get the bus from Boardwalk. I did that this year when I was dropped off at the park and met the rest of the group for dinner at DTD. Worked really well.

It's a nightmare the other way though - from DTD Marketplace the bus goes to DTD Westside (where *every* bus that I was on through there changed driver!) then to TL, then to Swan then Dolphin, then to Yacht & Beach and finally to Boardwalk. It took over an hour, and the bus was packed most of the way - people at Boardwalk couldn't get on.

*Strictly* speaking, I think the park tickets allow you to use the transportation so you probably shouldn't ride if you don't have tickets, but I'm not aware they ever ask for them.

You can also visit the Resort Hotels too, even if you're staying off-site. So you can eat at all the restaurants and view the wonderful facilities. You can also use the boat hire at the hotel marina's etc - You can't use their swimming pools though - they are just for hotel guests.

One of my favourites is the Poly (and the SeaRaycer speed boats are great too), followed by the GF and AKLodge.

Walk from Marketplace to Saratoga Springs and get the bus to Epcot. Much faster.

Yep, as long as you have your park tickets you can use the transport. Didn't know that about DTD. A shame because we don't have a car, so may want to park hop from here. But like other dibbers say, there's more than one way to get around!
