You show your room card and you're given a wristband.

For morning EMH you'll need your room key for early admission to the park. For evening EMH wristbands are given out from around an hour before normal park closing time, show your room key and get a wristband. They are available from several locations in the park as well as at the gate. You won't be allowed on any attractions without one after the official park closing time. Remember even kids need a room key to participate in EMH.

You queue up and show your room key and then get given a wristband. They will check to see if you've got one, had a long sleeved top on one night last year and every ride I was asked to show my wristband.

When you are that the park, ask at customer services what time and locations wrist bands will be issued, they will be able to tell you so you are not trying to find where they are

hope this isn't a stoopid question, but when you check the Disney site for park hours, it tells you the park hours and and which ones have AM /PM EMH - well, the times that they list on there, is that the standard park hours or the EMH times?

It's usually the standard park hours.

e.g if it says 9am then emh are at 8am

I think i'm right!
