Hi all, just booked to go to the CP on my 1st full day then go on to the MK.
A mate of mine said that was the worst thing that I could have done on my 1st day as the rest of the holiday will not live up to seeing the castle for the 1st time and that I should have waited until day 4/5 to go to the Mk, talk about brusting my bubble:(
What do you dibbers think?:confused2
I think it's the perfect thing to do! I know a lot of people do this and we always do MK on our first day - seeing that castle on your first full day is just magical.
It is not the worst thing that you could do at all!!! It's probably the best.

You've made a great choice, what a way to start your holiday, we were going to book that but decided to leave it until the 2nd day as we always to Animal Kingdom on our first day.

I think you should take no notice at all!!
The only reason we havent done MK on our first day is due to the busy/quiet day guide.
We were planning on doing MK first this Sept which would have been great for us but we decided to extend our holiday so we are flying a week earlier. AK is now going to be our first day.
You will have a fabulous day and what a start to your holiday.
The first park we visited on our first trip to WDW was Magic Kingdom. Mind you, there were only two to choose from in those days. :)
You'll be fine, it's all one big adventure and while maybe there's some logic to the "not peaking too soon" thing, I certainly wouldn't change anything now.
Do make sure you give yourself enough time to take it all in before your meal though - get to the MK car park at least an hour before your booking time, maybe even a bit more. That won't be a problem on your first day - with the time change, you'll probably be up before the dawn!
Just go and have a ball, and enjoy that perfect moment as you step from under the train station and see the castle at the end of Main Street for the very first time. It's a truly priceless experience, savour every moment of it.

Yes MK is magical and for us it the best park for the overall Disney experience but that is exactly why we are visiting it first this year as we did our first time. I can't imaging a better way to start your holiday and get you in the mood.
Have a great time :thumb:

Lisa don't listen to your friend, listen to your Dibb family! ;)
We always do Magic Kingdom on the first morning! I don't feel like i'm truly in Disney World until i'm standing on Main Street! You'll have a wonderful time!

You are a serious dibber - goodness me - you must have asked every conceivable question going, do leave some things as a surprise!!
Sorry if I burst your bubble not meant to but you really must just sometimes do what you want to and go with what you want to do especially with it being your first trip. Whatever you do will be brilliant and you will enjoy it all I am sure.

Last time we went to Florida the first full day we spent there we went to Magic Kingdoms Crstal Palace. It was amazin because it was an al you can eat. If you go with smal todlers there is a kids corner which do waffles. When you go YOU MUST TAKE YOUR CAMERA because they have Winnie the pooh and his gang to do pictures and autographs.
TRY YOUR HARDEST TO GET THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:tiggerbou:goofy _bou

It really doesn't matter when you do things - it's your holiday, and you should do what you want when you want!
MK on the first day sounds just great to me, and what a treat to do CP! IMHO MK is the very best place for your first day, and if you can, take the ferry not the monorail from the TTC, as the view of the castle is just incredible.

I think this is personal preference, we always go to Blizzard Beach on our first full day (so I can have my fix). I am sure you will have a brilliant day whatever your choice.

Lisa visiting MK on your first day, sounds like a wonderful idea. It what makes it magical for me. On our first trip out there in 1998,we spent our first day there. I couldn't wait to get there. We have been going there every year since and every time I step onto main street it gives me goose bumps!! Even now that I am a cast member for Disney the magic still hasn't worn off. I must be mad!!
