Where would you recommend for a character meal at Disneyland Paris. We have a 2 year old with us. Also can you book them from your hotel if you're staying on site?

We've eaten at Cafe Mickey several times and really like it there. You'll find lunchtimes to be the quietest: 12.00 is a good time. We've met a wide range of characters there including Minnie and Mickey, Chip n Dale, Genie, Baloo, Eeyore, Prince john, Friar Tuck, Goofy, Pluto, Capt Hook, Mr Smee etc etc!
We've also had tea at Plaza Gardens which was nice and is a cheaper option. The breakfast here was another matter: good food but for some reason people weren't waiting at their tables to meet the characters and were rushing up to them. This meant that they weren't left with enough time to visit every table which was annoying.
They also offer a character meal at Innoventions in the Disneyland Hotel but this is pricey and we've never bothered with it. Another meal, which is quite new, is dinner with the princesses and princes, and Suzy and Perla at the Auberge de Cendrillon. Again this is pricey but the food is supposed to be good.
the Lucky Nugget Salon also offers a character meal but we haven't done this either.
As far as booking meals goes, we've never done so until we get to DLP, but we always go at off-peak times. The only exception to this may be the princess meal as this is new and is probably popular. If we go in October I will definitely book as it will be during half term. You can book from your hotel or from City Hall on Main St but you can also call up to 90 days in advance on this no: 00 33 160 30 40 50 (includes dialing code).
The only thing is that your DD may hate the characters. I've seen some kids taken to a character meal who have been petrified. You may be better off waiting to see how she reacts to them before booking or book a meal for the second day as you can cancel on the first day if you think she won't like it.
My DD loves all the characters, even the nasty ones, but we went with friends whose daughter absolutely hated them and became hysterical when one came near her: you just don't know til you get there.
You could also have a look at www.dlpfoodguide.com for reviews, menus and prices.

Thanks guys. I'm not worried about DDs reactions to the characters as she's a well seasoned Disney traveler having already been to Florida three times!
Havn't been to DLP for years though and wasn't sure where was best to go.

We did the Lucky Nugget on both our visits to DLP and enjoyed it. DD was 3 the first time, then 5 the next time (then we moved her on to WDW for 7 and 9 - and hopefully 11!). We all enjoyed it and the food was decent and plentiful.
