Bubba Gump, HR Cafe, or NASCAR Cafe for lunch at Universal??

Have been looking at the menus and wondered which of these 3 restaurants people prefer eating at when in Universal Studios for the day?

Bubba Gump is the only one I've tried and is fantastic.
Nascar was still being built when we there at Christmas and I'm not into cars or racing, so the food would have to be great to drag me in there!
HR is meant to be good but the queues were always too long.

The only one I have tried is Bubba Gump which was fine but I have to say it didnt blow my socks off.

Hi Nascar is okay for burgers thats it, HRC okay not tried Bubbas, my citywalk favs are Pastamore, Jimmy Buffets and NBA

Haven't been to that Bubba Gumps yet but went to one at Hong Kong and that was very good. Tried Nascar Cafe last year after my sister kept ranting about their steaks but wouldn't rush back. The only other one we've been to there is Jimmy Buffets and that was definately the best of the bunch.

HRC is very yummy we have been there for the past 3 years, not lunch, but early dinner, you can book a PS time on-line with them and it does work :thumbs-up

They took a family photo of us, like they do with the Disney Character Breakfasts and the package includes varying size of photo, keyring and fridge magnet.

Hi, we went to the Nascar Cafe in October and it has to be the worst service we had all holiday. That being said we still enjoyed it and the food was ok, but I think our waiter was on a different planet. We actually found it quite funny and still laugh about it now. First off the waiter got our order wrong, then when he cleared the plates away he dropped some of the fries I had left and they fell into my bag, then when he brought the ice cream sundae's there was ice cream all over the sides of the sundae glasses. My dbf is a total petrolhead however and he loved it here. I understand that it has been refurbed since we went and I have to say it needed it. I just hope they have retrained the staff at the same time Lol.

Have only tried Bubba Gumps when it first opened last year.The service was a little haphazard but he food was great.I would definatley go again.

Hi ,have never tried Bubba gumps although came close to last christmas ,but have tried JBs , HC , Nascar ,NBA , and MC now BGump ,of them all Jimmy bs is our fav ,just love the atmosphere esp on eve with live music

HRC is good, but not the place for a quiet meal, we love JB's Margaritaville, can't wait to go back there.

Was at Bubba Gups last year and the food and service was excellent. Also went to NBa which was very good too. Think I will be back to them this year. Have never tried HRC but maybe one day I will.

We were at Bubba Gump last year -excellent - would go back definitely

We were at NBA cafe, had poor service I thought, food was OK though, unsure if we would go back there, the noise from the basketball machines was very annoying

Nacar Cafe - we were before the refurbishment and thought it was poor - not so good as Race Rock - which is unfortunately now closed

Look forward to trying some of the others that have been mentioned though

depends on your fav food.

if you like shrimp then Bubba gump is the place. Steak then Outback Steakhouse on Maingate, Burgers are burgers.

For atmosfear Bumba Gump stole it for us, it felt like it was taken out of the film, and the service was great, hope you like pop quizzes about the film.

My son loves anything to do with cars so we were hoping for a bit of atmosphere.There were tv's on the wall at the side of the booths and that was itapart from the cars outside which are cool .Very unimpressed.Bubba Gumps on the other hand was really good.Loads of atmosphere,great theming and the food was pretty good.

I'm afraid I haven't heard of Bubba Gumps (the film) :blush: Is that what the theming is all about? Can anyone tell me what kind of theming they have as I hadn't a clue that it was named after a film! :confused2 :blush:

Bubba Gump is based on the film Forrest Gump. Bubba was Forrests best friend, hence Bubba Gump.

The theming is pretty subtle, more like a fishermans hut than anything else (Forrest and Bubba bought a shrimp boat in the film, it was Bubba's dream)

The best bit is the Run Forrest Run and Stop Forrest Stop signs that are on each table to get service - fantastic idea, you put the Stop sign up and any server nearby will come and attend to you :thumbs-up

We tried booking for Bubba Gump and they don't allow it - having said that we only waited about 10 minutes for a table for 9. My DH has never seen Forrest Gump and he still appreciated the theming. I think you can pre-book some of the other restaurants at the little counter right in the middle as you enter Citywalk from the Car park.

I don't eat fish or seafood and LOVED Bubba Gump, their New York Steak was to die for and DH was most impressed with the cheap refills on his Beer!! Would definately recommend this to anyone and we will be returning on our next trip in August.

Bubba Gumps & HRC for an evening meal, and Nascar for lunch.

There's a Bubba Gumps in San Fransisco, and that is always packed......

We've never eaten at any of these restaurants, but the reviews for all three appear good overall!

Been to HRC twice and Bubba Shrimp once, had brillaint meal in both but if you like fish and want something a bit differnet I would reccommend Bubba Shrimp. Our waiter was a bit full on but very funny.

really fancy bubba gumps,but i think ds 6 will want to go to nascar as he is car mad. :)
