Can anyone help I'm trying to find the best community for villa rental.
We want to as near to disney as we can but also able to walk to shops ect.
The last time we rented a villa it near the wallmart near marker 14 although it was lovely it was a little far to drive every day.
As I am the only one in our party who will drive in Florida I want to get everything right this time.
I know this is a tall order but we are not going until November 09 so I think I have plenty of time.
Thanks folks

Our 4 Bed villa at Emerald Island is available and is in a great location for Disney world.
A genuine 15 mins from the park

Hi,
You certainly have plenty of time to make sure that you get the holiday just right:grin:
The question about communities is huge - there are so many of them and There are a few hotspots villa areas, mainly south of the Disney area, and each has several communities. Probably the first place to start will be location but even then most Disney villas will be within the 15-20 minute drive to Disney, even those that look like they are a little further out are often only a couple of minutes further on.
To take a look at the DIBB communities by clicking here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/villa/map.htm) for an idea of location.
The DIBB has owners covering a great many communities. Owners or past guests are the best people to ask about each individual community. We have a home on Tuscan Hills and I will tell you a little about that in a mo but I would not know much about other communities to give you any information on them.
Owners, I wonder if we all fancy helping out here and giving a few lines about our own community to help out??

We are Disney side of Walmart near marker 14 and we are 10 mins max to Disney via 535. Lots nearer than most!

TUSCAN HILLS is located just below Davenport Lakes on the US 27, south from the 192. It is a small, quiet community that was brand new last year.

LOCATION
It takes us from 12/13 minutes to get to the DIsney area depending on traffic and sticking to all speed limits rigidly. Universal and Sea World are slightly further north and therefore slightly further away.

'Tuscan Hills' stands out by its tropical palm planting the unique striking red roofs that look beautiful against the bright blue Florida sky. All of the homes are designed to be of Meditteranean style architecture and have great attention to detail.
COMMUNAL FACILITIES & CLUB HOUSE

The Tuscan Hills Clubhouse is a single-storey red-roof building which boasts free internet access, a fitness room, lounge and children's indoor play area. Outside facilities will include a large covered lanai, a sand volleyball court, tot lot, palm garden and tennis court. All of these facilities will be available to use, free of charge, to Tuscan Hills villa renters.

FUEL & GROCERIES
You can find both (a huge Publix supermarket and Citrico gas station) within just a two-minute drive of Tuscan Hills. A Walmart store is just 5 minutes north on the US27
you cannot walk to any shop areas from Tuscan Hills, however, many villa communities are built around the dual carriageway access to disney and are therefore not optimum for pedestrians
