View Full Version : Did we miss anywhere

I've been busy planning my families dinners for when we go out to Florida next month. We've booked our ADR's for the Disney restaurants but the rest of our evenings we can change if necessary. I'm open to suggestions on places we may have missed and I'm open to criticisms of where we have chosen. Any help will be much appreciated. We're looking for a balance of cheap meals and nice dining.
What I've got is
ADR's
O'Hana's, Boardwalk Bakery and Boma for breakfast
Sci-Fi Cafe, Whispering Canyon, Boma and the 50's Prime Time restaurant for dinners
Non Disney
I-Hop in Kirkman Road
Olive Garden on the 192
Rainforest Cafe at DTD
Bennigans on the 192
ESPN at Boardwalk
Cheesecake Factory at Beuna Vista
Bahama Breeze at Beuna Vista
and Sweet Tomato of the 192.
We've got space for another two dinners in there and for the odd breakfast off site. We're staying at OKW so we've got a kitchen and the plan was to just make breakfast in the room, but I don't want to do that everyday.
Are you really going to Boardwalk Bakery just for breakfast? With ADR? I know it's nice but IMHO I would not bother going unless I was staying at BW or BC/YC or going to use the facilities anyway. Also as it's only a shop I didn't know ADR was available. I know, perhaps you mean Spoodles!

Your choices look good! We have quite a few of those ADRs. Crystal Palace is our favourite character meal, we always have to include a visit there.
The Boardwalk Bakery isn't a restaurant as such, more of a shop, I don't think you can make an ADR for there, just go in and buy what you want.
Have I missed a Cheesecake Factory at LBV? Please tell where it is!
Eating breakfast in your room is a great idea, saves $$$ and time. A box of Krispy Kremes and some OJ and you are all set.

Yeah sorry your both right about the Boardwalk Bakery, it's just a shop with no ADR.... The plan is to go there before going to Epcot, and we were going to go back there to eat at ESPN. Jan, is the stuff at the bakery worth going out our way for?
Lynn, the Cheesecake Factory is apparently at 1486 E Buena Vista Drive, according to Google. I've never been to any Cheesecake Factories in the past, having just assumed that's all they did, but the menu looked fantastic and there's been loads of recommendations on here so I thought we'd give it a go.
Has anyone been to Olivia's?
I'd definatly add Chili's to your list, Bennigan's you've got which is good but Chili's is better

Looks like it's the one at DisneyQuest from that address, thought we'd made a new discovery there :(

I was just about to suggest Olivia's.
mcsue has a lovely report http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=68794
Denny's at LBV is nice for breakfast.
The Cheesecake Factory at DQ is not a patch on the one at the Mall of Mallenia.

I also think you have a great mix of restaurants - the only thing I can think of that could be missing is a character meal, if its something you would like to do. They dont have to be very expensive, just choose breakfast or lunch as opposed to dinner. Have a look in the dining section at the top of the dibb for full listings of character meals, ie which characters are at which location to see if your family wants to go to any. We did Princess Breakfast at Restaurant Akerhaus in Norway at Epcot which was lovely.

Chili's is good also TGI .
You've got a good mix there :thumbs-up Whether the food at Boardwalk Bakery is worth a visit if you're not staying at the BW I wouldn't like to say, but I have a lovely lunch there in May - chicken ceasar salad, and ham/cheese paninis for my parents. It was lovely having a leisurely lunch sitting out on the boardwalk watching the world go by. I'm going to do it again in December :)

How about the Outback Steakhouse on the 192 ? :tounge::tounge::tounge:
if you're going to do the Cheesecake factory then it's GOT to be the one at Mall of millenia - combined of couse with some retail therapy - or should I say credit card melt down !
Ruth
A few more to consider :-
Kobé
The Melting Pot
Seasons 52
Kona Café at the Poly

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I'll have a look through the web and take my pick from there.
Ruth - I'm a bloke. I'm trying to keep the missus away from retail therapy. Last time we went to the Mall of Millenia she just went on and on and on about how she was long overdue an eternity ring....I'm not getting back into that carry on again - after all she's not getting an eternity ring till I'm sure I want to stay married to her :tounge: 15 years and I've still not made up my mind ;)

O'Hanas was our character breakfast. Apparently it's a Lilo and Stitch one, which I thought might be better for our two older boys - 9 and 14. I've no idea what to expect right enough but so long as Stitch doesn't have the awful corn dog smell on him from that ride in the Magic Kingdom it should be ok :d:
