We are on the DDP and are looking at having a 'nose' round many of the resorts. We will probably have a counter service meal at one or two resorts and just wondered which CS resort restaurants are your favourites? Captain Cook's has often been recommended on here, but just wondered about any others. Looking for lunch mainly, but also keen to sample CS good value breakfasts and the odd dinner :spin:

I love the Flame tree bq at Animal Kingdom, remember to take the paths rather than the first seat and you will end up by the lake watching everest, I loveley relaxing lunch venue in the park.

The Pepper Market at Coronado Springs is supposed to be really good! We're staying there this year and are looking forward to using a few of our credits there!

Thanks for the replys so far :spin: Keep 'em coming! I pretty much know the CS restaurants in the parks and was mainly keen to hear about good value hotel/resort restaurants (counter service on the DDP) Thanks for the tip about Pepper Market at Coronado springs Vabeth. I have heard lots of good reports about it and it will definitely be on our list for a CS credit or two ;)

I like the Pepper Market too - lots of choice and some more unusual items too. They do sting you for a small service charge there which annoys me a bit as it's basically a counter service place. The pay on exit feature there is nice too, as some of the other counter service places with multiple food serveries can take a while to pick everything up and then pay before you eat.

Do you still pay for service if you are on the DDP (counter service credit)? Also some of the menu items are quite expensive. Are there any exclusions for people using a DDP credit?

Another vote for the Pepper Market - food is cooked fresh to order and there's a great choice.

DDP includes the tip (well it does at the moment anyway, I gather that may be due to change though). Not sure about any exclusions at Pepper Market.

The service charge is included on DDP! Some of the desserts are excluded on the plan! It works on some sort of tier rating and only tier 1 desserts are allowed on CS credits (i think these are mainly cookies/muffins ect!)

Our CS favourites are:

MK: Peco Bill's for Bacon Double Cheeseburger and the toppings bar (will be our first lunch on 21st September :pgig:), Costmic Rays for the Chicken and mashed potato.

EPCOT: Kringla Bakery in Norway for smoked salmon and scrambled egg open sandwich (serve Bailleys Coffee as well!), Yakitori House in Japan for almost everything on the menu - especially the Curry and Tempura Shrip Udon soup.

AK: Flame Tree BBQ for the pulled pork sandwich. Also Tusker house for Chicken and Salmon, but this is changing to a Table Service Buffet.

Disney Studios: Starring Rolls Bakery for the sandwiches and ABC Commissary for Fish & Chips (if I'm in the mood!)

POR: For BBQ chicken and Ribs.

WL: Philli-cheesesteak sandwich

BC: Bakery/shop for made to order sandwich, I had beef and brie last year and it was fantastic.

CS: Pepper market, lots of choice but it is expensive compared to other Counter Service - I'm not sure what you would get on DDP.

Downtown Disney: Earl of Sandwich for Tuna and cheese melt.

I'm getting hungry now and I've only just eaten lunch!
