I noticed how good a rating Le Cog qu Vin had Fiona. Unfortunately its just a bit too out of the way for us - no car!

It is a bit of a trek, to a quite unassuming area too! However, the souffles are to die for!

TGI Fridays or outback steakhouse for me ! :tounge:

Have you tried the same restaurants over here and how do you think they compare?
We tried the Outback in Enfield, it was OKish but overpriced I thought.

I went through the menus of all these places last night. Despite having been there what feels like umpteen times, there are still many places I have not tried and, probably, places I've not tried for a while.

As a veggie the menus really make depressing reading. As it happens I love mozarella sticks and onion rings which is good because they are on just about every menu, but it's not the healthiest of food!

Beyond that the veggie offering seems to be either a salad or a token pasta dish although often there is literally nothing on the entree menu. That said, a meal could be 'created' from the starters and/or side dishes.

Bahama Breeze, Olive Garden and Sweet Tomatoes were places I've visited with and am familiar with. Beyond that the only places I am likely to visit, I think, are the Cheesecake Factory (which has a hugely varied menu) and Uno's. So thanks to the guys who suggested those - I hope I can make a visit...

Love both Don Pablos and Chevys for TexMex, Olive Garden for Italian and Sweet Tomatoes for Soups and Salads. Return to all of these each visit.

Perkins on Sandlake between Universal and International was the best breakfast we had. Although we loved the pile it high at Ponderosa, nothing beat the breakfast pancakes in Perkins, and Abby, our waitress for the duration was absolutely brilliant.
Evenings had to be TGIs for us, the steak with jack sauce was great.
