All u can eat buffets - ordering?

Hi everybody - can someone please give me an idea of the set up of the all you can eat buffets. We are staying at the Rodeway Inn and will probably be calling at the Ponderosa across the way.
When entering do you wait to be seated and then then state you want say the breakfast buffet and pay when you're leaving or is it totally different?

go to desk and order your entree you will be given any options and a knife and fork then you will be shown your seat by your server who will invite you to help yourself from the buffet, this is the Ponderosa set up, hope it helps

generaly you go in and pay for the breakfast buffet first .you are then taken to your seat where your waiter asks if you want to drink,they then will bring you some plates and cuttlery and you go and help yourself.you can go back as many times as you like.you then leave a tip for your server and go.Try the golden corrall for breakfast as we found it had a little bit more choice than the ponderosa.

You go to the till order yr drinks and meals and then move forward and a waiter or waitress will come along ask how many in yr group and show u to a table. The waiter will then take part of yr till receipt away which has what u have odered to drink and will probs tell u to help yrself to the buffet. Sometiems they ask if u have been before and if u say no they will explain the buffet to you and refills on pop and tea and coffee are free dont be afraid to ask them to refill as if they are busy dont always come along and ask

This is the correct procedure for Ponderosa, but there is a difference between buying entree with buffet or just buffet. Entree's are $10 - $15 and I think buffet alone is about $8 (not positive). I usually just have the buffet as I find an entree aswell too much, Iain has both though!

The breakfast buffet is $5 for adults and should be cheaper for kids, you will need to pay for your drinks when paying for food at the till as you enter the restaurant. Your server will show you to the table with your cutlery and then bring your drinks, you pick up your own plates from next to the buffet.
