View Full Version : Mickeys Backyard BBQ - Yes or No?
I am unsure whether to go for this meal as it takes 2 tokens off the dining plan.
Do any of you guys think it's worth it?
We are already doing the following meals~:
Chef Mickeys
Cindys Breakfast
Crystal Palace
Might be a case of overkill??:
:erm:confused2
I have heard very mixed reviews for this - I think I'd go for the Hoop De Doo if you want a dinner show type meal. (although no characters at the HDD).

Mickeys backyard bbq is my sons' favourite meal in disney and is always top of his list for adr's. Whilst you would not see any characters that would be different to any you will already encounter with those adr's, we think it is worth it for the different kind of interaction that the children are able to have with the characters. I have wonderful videos of both of my children holding hands and dancing with the characters and their extra large smiles make it a truly wonderful occasion. The very first time we went, we arrived extra early and were first in the queue but this paid dividends at gate opening time when Minnie mouse came to greet and escort the first children in the queue - a truly magical moment. So in answer to your question, do we think it is worth it? Most definately, although please be warned that the food isn't the best which disney offer!!

We were going to do this but I read some mixed review on it as as we're going in November, it may well be chilly to sit out for a few hours at that time of year so decided against it.

I'm half thinking about booking this too. Is the entertainment more of a show or do you have to join in? LOL. Much prefer the idea of watching stuff while we eat than have to join in. :D

We are doing this in Sept and i am really looking forward to it.:spin:
I, too, have heard mixed reviews mainly about the food but to me its not about the food at all. I believe in trying things for ourselves and if we don't like it we don't have to do it again.
But to be honest i know we will love it as our boys will be thrilled to be there.:thumbs-up

It's something different to all the other meals so I say go for it.
