Just checking out the Garden Grill for a possible lunch.. what does 'served family style' actually mean? Do you have to have a little argument between you, hide the vegetables you don't like and drink too much? :)

They bring a platter of food instead of individual plates of food.

Believe me it works great. We're booked on for lunch at the Garden Grill whilst we are there. So the Grandkids can have some character pics as well :grin:

DH and I have booked this as I loooove revolving restaurants. I'm a bit worried now as we don't have children. Are we going to feel silly as lone adults at this? I was looking forward to meeting Pluto .
Any advice please :thumbs-up?

we have had a few character meals and there's just the 2 of us. We have never felt silly, and it's a really good chance for some fun and good photo's. We'll be booking a good few for Dec, including Garden Grill.

Cool! I thought that may be so but it's nice to have it confirmed. Thanks, Dee

just make sure you look like you want the characters to come to your table, as once before, they seemed to bypass us until we waved at them and they came over. They must think that we just come to eat - yeah right, we're really gonna pay for a character meal and just want to eat:d:
I tend to pick meals that have characters I particularly want to see (or even their costumes) rather than for the meal

In our house "family style " would mean Roary the Racing Car on the TV to distract ds while I tried to sneakily shovel broccoli down him!!!;):pgig:

I see the Garden Grill serves catfish as one of the entrees. I don't like fish, but I love the kiddy favourite mac 'n cheese - do you think if I ask nicely I can swap some fish for some lovely mac?

Go for it! It's a decent meal, plenty of it, and the character interaction is great. Watch out for that Pluto though, I spent a fair while trying to eat with my head in Pluto's mouth. And he was growling.

The Garden Grill is the only ADR we have made for this trip. As we are not staying 'on-site', and with the crew that I am taking, breakfasts are out because none of them can get up!

Oh tell me about it! I haven't made any breakfast ADRs at all - mainly 'cos my other half can't get out of bed but also I want to concentrate on EMH in the morning!
