Hi Elaine, in the end we went for Kuredu as opposed to Hukuura Hurra, its a bigger island, more to do if you want it and quiet also.

We opted for the Sangu water villas, they are stunning, set in the Indian Ocean, beautiful indeed. With the Sangu you get access to a private bar and resturaunt only available for Sangu guests, you can also use the others bars too.

We booked with Eclipse (First Choice), flying 23rd April i think, ir it may be 22nd, 7 nights, (Away for 9), direct flights with sea plane transfer, all inclusive for £2800. Quite good me thinks as the upgrade to the water villa was around £600.

Cant wait, looking forward to 7 nights total relaxation. I will find a picture and put it on for you.

the water Villas look amazing. I think you did get an excellent price:thumbs-up are you staying 7 nights on the island ? the reason I ask is we stayed 1 night in Hulhule hotel before flying home because of the seaplane times...it extended the holiday a little more:grin:

We are staying 7 nights, our return flight is at 12.25 lunch time, so should be ok, fingers crossed.

It does look great, i am so excited now, gottta save up and pay for it now.

Looks nice. My only reservation would be that it's a long trip for only a week. We're still toying with the Maldives for later this year but have decided we'd only do it if we can find the time to make it a 2 week trip.

I know, i do agree, the only problem is the 7 night trip your away 9 days, so the 14 night trip would be 16 days, for us its a tad too long to leave the kidlets. There isnt a massive difference in cost either.

It was 7 or none for us, so we grabbed the 7. We went to Barbabos for 7 nights and found that fine, so fingers crossed.

Yeah, we did Jamaica for 7 nights and it wasn't too bad - I'd certainly not try and talk people out of a week in the Caribbean.

It's just always struck me that it takes longer to get to the Maldives (c 11 hours if flying direct, 13 or more if not) and then you'll have a transfer of varying length.

Nomatter - I'm sure you'll have a fab time.

My problem when I look at Maldives holidays is I keep looking at the next most expensive resort and then the next. Before I know where I am, it's s £10k+ holiday. One day, maybe...!

We kept doing that, however we had a budget and stuck to it. There are many luxurious resorts, the one and only and the Hilton are fabulous, however one of my friends went to the Hilton, she said it was beautiful indeed, but many of the people she met where aloof, offhand and snobs. Mmm not my cup of tea, i dont intend spending that much time with other folk but would like people on my own wavelength.

Our flight is direct, 10hrs, then a sea plane transfer for 30 mins. So will work out about 1 - 2 hours more travelling than to Barbados.

Have you been to Barbados Scott, its fab, if you stay at the gap, i think you would love it, its our favourite, going again next year.
