View Full Version : Getting stressed........
Flying off to Cyprus again in August but wondered if anyone could help with a silly little question.......
My wisdom teeth are still coming through and recently I have had mild toothacre for a couple of weeks at a time. This then spreads to my ears and head giving me mild symptons but my concern is that if this starts up again soon I do not want to be flying. The pain is just bearable but I start getting ratty with people and I have been to the denitst to explain this but he just says if it gets any worse you will need to have them taken out!!! GREAT.....
Any advise, I have tried lavender oil and pain killers but I cannot rely on those all the time, how about a hammer or drill. The mood I am in it just might make it better.
Sorry to drone on but I am panicing about flying with this and the bad news is that one is only halfway through my gums and the other is yet to appear (yes, I am a very late developer)......HELP and ADVISE needed.:D
I used bonjela or teething gel when my gums were sore, it did provide enough relief to allow some paracetamol to kick in. Unfortunately mine turned out to be impacted (which could only be seen via x-ray) and I ended up in hospital under general anaesthetic :confused2
Or you could always try a teething ring.....:pgig:

Sorry can't help with the toothache - but I can tell you you are not too late of a developer. My nan who was 78 at the time and hasn't a tooth in her head had pain in her gums so she went to the dentist - and yes she was cutting a wisdom tooth!!

Wow, never heard of this before......there is time for me yet!!!

Will try these!! I can cope with the tooth ache but it is the ear and head aches that develop from this that really irritate me. WHY DO WE HAVE TEETH!!! (LOL don't answer that one)

Try having a warm, salt mouthwash - sounds disgusting i know but it workds. Try and swill the solution round where it hurts in your mouth. I did this (my mum used to be a dental nurse who advised this) as my wisdom teeth were coming through and had broken through my gums, but food gets in under the gums, this will help clean it!
Can you not try and get them out before you go?
Enjoy Cyprus - i love it out there.

I know I should but it is one of those things that never gets to the top of my 'to do' list. Dentists are not my favorite pastime (as I am sure this is the case for others) ....mmmm I need to really think about this one. I would have time to have these out and be recovered by the time I go again in August.
We love Cyprus too, second trip out there this year!!
I had 3 wisdom teeth out at the hospital and my face was shall we say colourful but did not hurt that much. My forth one started causing me trouble years later, I dont know why they left it. My dentist said I would need it out and I asked for gas to which he said dont be silly. Anyhow I was so scared and I am not affraid of the dentist. I had the tooth out and never felt a thing so dont worry too much if you need them out.

I think I am going to have to have to go and see the dentist!! :confused2
Since I have probly scared you more hope this will make you laugh...Did you know that when they make faulse teeth now they have your name on them. I find this so funny and had visions of my paps smiling and his gums saying freddy on them. They do it so if the older gen go into hospital or nursing homes they dont lose them.

I am only scared of having injections in my mouth at the dentist. My dear dentist numbs my gums with a gel before injecting me! having said that my filling dropped out in the ASmov food court april 2006 and I still havent got it fixed as yet!!!!
