View Full Version : Disneyland Paris first timer...help
I am going to Disneyland Paris for the first time with my sister and friend for a few days in July. Having only been to Florida I dont really know what to expect and am not really familiar with the two parks or resorts.
This will also be our first holiday abroad with out the parents, organising things for us!! :confused2
We are travelling by eurostar and staying at the New York hotel, so at least we know we will be able to manage to get ourselves to the park and back, but any advise would be much appreciated.
Anything we must do whilst we are there or must bring with us?????

just to say we stopped at the new york hotel and it was beautiful!
Hi Tink! As you're staying onsite you'll be able to take advantage of the extra magic hours like they have at WDW. I would recommend the following sites for info:
www.dlrpmagic.com
www.dlpfoodguide.com (menus for all restaurants + reviews and prices)
www.dlrp.co.uk
There's lots to read on these sites which will give you park hours, extra magic hours, parade times etc
Hope this helps!
Take more money than you think you need. It is a lot more expensive than WDW - if you dont want to stint, take extra.
Also have you booked any meals?
book buffalo bill wild west show, we really enjoyed this, and thought it was worth the money
New York is great. Short walk through Disney Village. Studios is on your left and a bit further on to the Disneyland Park. Hotel rooms are large, there's two restaurants in the hotel and a very nice, but pricey bar.
Billy Bobs and Hurricanes in Disney Village are good nights out. You can get the train to the centre of Paris from the resort and there's a smart Mall and Shopping Village one stop along as well.
It's not fair really to compare it with Orlando. It's got it's own charm and identity and brilliant for that Disney fix - we're going on Wednesday to the Newport Bay Club for 5 nights.
Have a great time.

My first tip would be not to compare with WDW.
I have stayed at the New York twice and it has a great location.
As already said take plenty of money - it is very expensive.
Disney Village is lively in the evenings with bands on the stage and there is also 'Hurricanes', a night club - I'm sure you will have a great time

Just wanted to say that I hope you have a fantastic time. We're going over ourselves this Sunday and havn't been for years, so it'll be a learning experience for us too.
It issmaller obviously than Florida, and you'll find some of the rides, Pirates for example is longer as it's a newer park. Very cosmapoliton feel to it. Still great though, we're certainly counting down the days until we go.

It is so handy when you go by Euro star because you are right there and your hotel is the nearest one to the terminal. When I was there they were still building Tower of Terror so not sure if that will be open when you go.Have a great time.

as said, try not to compare DLP with WDW Florida - they are NOT the same but I love DLP - some of the rides are far better - Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates and Space Mountain are far superior at DLP in my opinion. Im sure you will have a fab time - best to walk through the Village to reach your hotel, havent stayed at the New York but it looks gorgeous :d:
