Where are you staying Chrissy?

Usually most resorts will have a Map on the Official Website. They are usually spaced out so that they are pretty close to each Building in the Resort.

Hope you have a GReAT time wherever you are staying :)

There are 3 pools on the community we go to, none are that far away but we have our favourite pool.

We prefer these type of communities rather than places that have their own pools, firstly the pools are of a size that you can actually have a swim and secondly we love meeting people and it is an ideal place to meet. We have made so many friends over the years it has really enhanced our holidays.

We stayed at Grand Palms, just off Lindfields Boulevard, and our condo overlooked the pool and tennis courts. That was fantastic, the kids could go out and have a swim or play tennis and we could watch them from our balcony. The pool area was extremely well kept and clean, and the water was warm.

This year we stayed at villas at Island Club, but it was Feb, and by the time we got back every evening it was dark, so we didnt use the pool. It was however quite a walk from the condo so the kids wouldnt have been able to go alone.

Where are you staying? :)

It really does vary, Chrissy, I haven't stayed at your resort, but at the ones I have stayed at, it is just pot luck how close to a pool you are. Where I have stayed there have been three or more pools, so nobody is too far from one. We always find a favourite one. I much prefer to swim in a decent sized pool & it's more sociable for the kids (and the adults sometimes!).

However, if you are too close, it can sometimes be noisy, especially if there is a bar too.

Villas at Island Club, :)

We liked it here. Despite our condo being far from the pool, which didnt really matter to us anyway, it was a nice community, not too big. The area was well kept, there always seemed to be someone sweeping the road in the morning.

If you don't know the area, it's really handy for all the parks, and lots of eating places nearby, and also a Publix supermarket just up the road.

Hope you enjoy your stay there. :)

Kate: We have booked to stay here in April 08. We have a 2 bed condo "overlooking water" ??? - but that isn't the pool. Not sure where this "water" is on the Google Earth. It all looks dried up. Do you remember anything like that? Did you like the condos? We booked ours through VRBO.

Hi there - can't remember any water there apart from the pool! Having said that, thats not to say there isn't any! I'll tell you who will be able to help - a dibb member called feathersonline, he has a condo there (we didn't know he had one at the time, or we would have rented his!)

Anyway, it was great there, would definitely go there again, we love condos now. The only reason we are having a villa next time is because we have my parents coming wih us and they would like a bit more space between them and us!! :d:

I've also stayed there, and it was fine. The condo was three-bedroom (though we only paid for two) with plenty of room. It was a really good location, between Disney and the US27, with a Publix only a short drive away. The pool we found there was quite small, and it was December, so we weren't really bothered about swimming. There was a small lake, so that's probably the "water" you mention. If you'd like some photo's of interiors etc PM me and I'll send you some.

Thanks for the information Kate and bri96. Not too worried about the inside as I don't plan to be in very much! Just a bit bothered about being next to water because if I get bitten I suffer - badly. We stayed there in a villa back in 2000 but it didn't seem like we were in a complex because then there were not many other apartments and the pool was also fine because everyone was out at the parks! I didn't know somebody on here had a condo there - and I thought I had researched this, as well. Never mind. There's always the next time! Thanks again.

Hi

The only 2 bed condos at Grand Palms near water are the ones at the back of the resort - where our condo is, and they overlook a small lake, which unfortunately has completely dried out at the moment, as there's been such little rain over the last 12 months - we have pictures of the water on our website! - the swimming pool is about a 5 minute walk from the back of the resort, so you won't be too far away... :)

Our balcony, which overlooks the 'water' is fully screened, so you can sit outside at night and watch the sunset and not get bitten!

If you need any more information on Grand Palms or Villas at Island Club (which is just across the road), please ask away and we'll try to help... ;)
