I am not going but been many times.
First trip I was put in San Antonio ( many years ago when I was a teenager )
I hated it so much that I hired a bike to explore the island, rode down a windy road and looked down a hill to see the most beautifull sandy bay, it was Es Cana.
As an anniversary present for my parents I booked them a suprize holiday there, they said no no not Ibiza why did you want us to go there, its full of yobs.
They loved it so much they have gone every year since.
The bay is lovely, a nice sandy beech which is sheltered and gently slopes in to the sea, pretty fishing boats, just 5 minutes away is the town of Santa Eulalia which is a little larger but truly has an iberian feel and a lovely market.
You would need to get the bus to Ibiza town itself which is truly stunning and very very lively at night ( but not yobby ), you will have to be broad minded though in Ibiza Town at night, its the gay capital of europe and the fashion parades and other stuff are truly cosmopolitan.
i would avoid San antonio as this is the place you see on all the nasty tv programmes where young kids go to get drunk, stoned and have casual sex.
Es Cana is a truly family orientated place and very safe.
Enjoy.

You will have a great time, wish i was coming  we have been 3 times and love this island.Ibiza town is fantastic just to sit and watch whats going on Awwwww (Memories) As for Es cana it is in a bay shaped beach resort with one long road where the bars/restaurants are and the Hippie market is at the top.
Like said before i would also avoid San an as we thought it was a dump, put it this way its like the outskirts of a big city.
Enjoy. :wavey:

Very pretty island, I think it's the prettiest out of the whole of the Balearic group. Ibiza town is quint, all the noisy action is towards the west of the town if that's what you want.
