Cheapest, and best, are from walmart - you can pick them up in $5 denominations, and they cost around 1.4c per minute (in the US).
Do not, under any circumstances, buy the ones advertised as from the casinos (as "The Mirage Phone Card" etc). They charge a whopping 12.9c per minute!

HAve a look at www.click4prepaid.com .Only 4c per minute.
I use www.1st4phonecards.com (http://www.1st4phonecards.com), their Stars and Stripes card gives 3.3c per minute to the UK so a pre-purchased $20 card (about £11) gives you 600 minutes of calls to the UK.
That $5, 1.4c/min card from Walmart sounds great value though - could you let us have some more details, Diamonddog?

We got one from Walgreens which was on the strip Opposite side of road from New York New York. Can't remember what we paid but it wasn't expensive. Worked fine. You can also take it back & reload it.
Also bought our water & drinks from Walgreens much cheaper than the hotel shops.

Will you have a car? We used the one on Eastern Avenue (it runs parallel to Koval Lane, which runs parallel to the Strip) - go south until you come nearly to the airport perimeter fence. It's only 10 minutes from The Flamingo, it's a new store, and great for all those things you may need in Vegas - we bought a toaster for $6, a cool box with handle and wheels for $25 (fill it up with ice from the hotel - you can keep your drinks cold, and also milk - for cereals- and even ham/cheese etc). Great for cheap brekkies! :)
