Sanibel Beach Front Hotel Recommendations

Thinking about adding a couple of days staying at Sanibel Island.

Would love some recommendations for a nice beach front hotel on the Island.

We stayed here for a couple of days in 2005. http://www.sanibelbeachresort.com/
The rooms were very basic, but it was right on the beach.It was lovely to get up and walk on the beach early in the morning. We loved Sanibel & Captiva - there are some lovely places to eat too.
You will love it - it is so laid back and relaxing.

Thank you for the link, the hotel does look nice and as you say it's right on the beach.
We just want somewhere for a couple of days R&R :)

We have stayed at the West Wind Inn twice and absolutely loved it. It is quite small (probably approx 100 rooms) is right on the beach and has a nice pool and more importantly a pool bar!

It also has a restaurant which serves delicious meals, I think they only open Friday and Saturday for Dinner though.

We haven't been there since 2000, but would definitely go again.

Thanks for that, we did come across the West Wind on a few sites. I think Virgin has the hotel. Will give it another look.
