Does anyone know whether ice skates (for figure skating, with the toe picks - not the ice hockey ones) are likely to be much cheaper in Orlando - and if so, where would be a good place to look for them?

Thanks everyone :)

It really depends what you are looking for, boots can be cheaper but you will have to consider tax implications, blades tend to be more expensive because most of the blades are made in Sheffield. If you know what brand of boots you want (bearing in mind Risport is not popular in the states and may be more expensive) I would look at their sites and see where the local FLorida stockist is.

Here are Harlicks Florida stockists, none in Orlando area though, Jackson Skates don't have any listed dealers for Florida

It was Jackson that I was really thinking about, but it doesn't look from what you say that we will find stockists in Orlando for them.

I suppose that we could get some boots, and then get blades fitted over here (is two pairs for two DD's who are both very keen on skating, and who grow out of their boots very quickly it seems to me... :confused2 )
