hi,

it really does depend on how hot the day is, went last august, going again in 6 days, and it was hot it took us about a half hour 45 minutes to dry out out completely, but we are mad as no sooner did we get dry then we went back on popeye and dudley doo right :d:

It depends on how how it is and what you're wearing. A few years ago I was wearing denim shorts and they took an age to dry but last year I wore cotton shorts and they were dry within about half an hour. TBH on a hot day I'm happy to have the soaking and want to go back on it time and time again.

Don't wear jeans, heavy jumpers, white shorts/trousers with patterned pants underneath! You will soon dry in the sun and heat.

Wait till you just set off out of the gaze of the crew and whip your trainers off and pop in the covered area. You aren't supposed to but it does help.

Other than that, tightly wrap your poncho round you and watch the others get soaked! :pgig:

Oh, and spend some time people watching those coming off the ride - can be hilarious, especially the 'cool' teens trying to still look 'cool'.

We always take dry clothes and put them in a locker. Do all of the water rides then change into nice dry clothes.

though if you are staying on site you could change at the hotel and come back.

We did it towards the end of the day last year (didn't know we would get THAT wet) and i had to buy a new t-shirt :spin:

You do get truly soaked on these but it's great fun, everyone on our 'barge' on Bluto's was laughing the whole way round  I'd recommend dry undies and shorts if nothing else (tops usually dry quite quickly) Socks and shoes get wet too but i'll be combatting that by wearing Crocs ;)

We always take a change of clothes to IoA for this ride and Ripsaw Falls. One thing for sure is, you are going to be soaked. Make sure you take flip flops or crocs as your trainers will be soaked! We love to sit and eat some dippin dots along with all the other soaked souls, dry off a bit and get changed.

take a change of clothes you will get drenched, also even though its hot hot hot, you never dry properly.
Go on all the water rides get soaking and then go and change, more comfortable then.

I still cant see why they have to make you sooo wet, I dont find it amusing.

Youll get absolutely soaked, i always go on this last then leave the park right after. Another thing to think about is hair-mine is naturally curly and isnt a pretty sight when it starts drying off!!!

We tried it in November

We got soaked we all had to go and buy new clothes (very expensive) we would have never dried out. Will go on again as it is a brillant ride but will take a change of clothes once bitten...........

After wandering around Busch all day once in wet undies which did not dry and then the clouds came over and it got mighty chilly :( ..........I now either, take a change of clothes; leave in locker, do all the wet rides and then change OR wear a bikini/cossie under my t-shirt and shorts or skirt, with spare undies in a small bag I can carry around with me and change in the ladies when done with the water rides OR stay at RPR and go back to hotel and change if I don't dry out!

Oh and wear walking sandals on feet so they don;t need to be worried about at all - soggy socks and trainers, yuk :nonono:

This is one ride you will get soaked on.

Don't let that put you off it is a great ride.

After our 1st soaking we learned to put a swimsuit under t-shirts (DH just takes his t-shirt off), and go on in shorts pref 'board' ones that dry quicker, and we also put a hand towel in our back pack to help the drying process. Oh and one final things we flip flops or take your shoes off!

Now you are prepared.

Have a fab time!

They do turn off some of the water features that get you wet in colder weather, however even then you can get badly soaked.

The worst thing is if your trainers get wet- expect blisters later with all the walking you will be doing- maybe take flip flops for the rides, as your not allowed to go bare foot.

I've never bothered taking a change of clothes, although I do wear light-weight shorts and sandals. We've always dried off pretty quickly in the heat; the boys often want to take off their t-shirts and hang them on the back of the stroller (if we have one) to dry. :cool2:

you do get very wet on this ride last time we rode it we couldn't of got any wetter if we had jumped in the river we were that wet, but if you wear light clothes you soon dry in the heat

my advice is bring a spare set of clothes because you don't just get wet you get soaked, you could do that or let the sun dry you, and if you are staying at one of universal's hotels it does'nt matter how wet you get because the hotel is only 5 min walk away

We got absolutely drenched on this earlier this year. The weather was very warm but it still took quite a while to completely dry off. Make sure you wear very light cotton shorts and tops and if you wear trainers, them off and put them in the storage compartment.

Like I said you do get wet, but it really is a super ride. :spin:

The first time we rode the Popeye and Bluto ride,we saw some Japanese people who had just come off it wringing out their socks, and told ourselves they must have been exaggerating :erm:

They were not.

We got soaked.

Same on Dudley Do Right's. :)

One tip - DH wore jeans shorts and after getting wet all morning at Islands of Adventure, they were rubbing his inside leg really badly. We had to go and get dressings and cream for it!

I went on this without knowing how wet you got . I had on a strapless t shirt type dress and it nearly disintegrated ! I had to go in the loo and wring it out and still it was soaking ! I would wear something sturdier or take a change of clothes next time.Definately no trainers !

Got utterly soaked to the extent DW insisted on new clothes for her and the kids even though it was August. Cheaper to takea change of clothers and store them for free in a 2hr locker while you do the water rides.

They sell towels at the exit of the ride (if only I'd noticed that before we went on).

We had to buy DD(5) a new t-shirt when we got off this! Although it was red hot her little body was so cold!!!

And trainers !!!!! saturated!

I think we are going to take spare clothes & put them in a locker as we have an ADR booked aswell after we've done this!!! (Bad planning!

It's really good fun though & not to be missed!

The lockers are $2 per hour now. I went beyond the hour and couldnt put more money in cos my purse was in the locker!! They had to ask for a guy with a key to come and open it! This was when I got talking to Jonathan Ross & his family - he had 3/4 denims on and was rather 'sore' from being wet!! :wavey:

You WILL get soaked but it is a terrific ride and not to be missed. I wear swim shorts and as little else as poss. Take shoes off, the attendant will tell you to put them back on but will do precisely nothing when you don't obey.

Always do this on our last morning for some reason along with jurassic park and Dudley. Looking forward to it already even though it will mean the end of our holiday!

My usuall plan of attack for wet rides is this, on the days I know I will be getting soaked (AK, IOA)

Wear a Bikini (or Tankini) underneath clothes
Take flip flops in bag
Take Poncho in bag
Just before riding water rides go to loo
Change into "battle gear" (battle gear is Bikini with poncho over and flip flops)
Put clothes in bag
Put bag and trainers into locker
Ride wet ride
Retrive clothes from locker
Go back to loo
Change out of battle gear
Enjoy the rest of my day in dry clothes

Simple!

But this year I will be donning Crocs, so wont need the flip flops

Wear your crocs!

We went on last week & I refused to go on 1st thing in the morning.

When we returned to the parks I wore my swimming costume under very light shorts & a large t-shirt and of course my crocs. Once on the ride I took off my t-shirt & put it Under the cover in the middle to keep dry. This worked for me

We got VERY wet!
