Hi,
We've booked a four day break at Center Parcs Longleat for early September, in an Exec 3 bedroom villa.
Since booking we've read conflicting views on the place, very hilly, too big etc...
Has anyone stayed there, anyone stayed in the same type of accomodation, anyone got any tips on going to Center Parcs (it's our first time).
Thanks
Carl
We've stayed there and at Elveden in a 3 bed exec villa. We loved it and had a great time, though it is very hilly in places and spaced out. We prefer Elveden as it is flat and the restaurants, activites, etc are based in 1 location in the main whilst at Longleat they are spread out over 3 locations.
As for the accomodation it was great. We're back off to elveden next year again!
We stayed at Longleat the year it opened. We loved the accommodation, pool etc. but be careful if you have young children on bicycles. Our DD then 5 was cycling along and then came to a very steep hill, she could not control the bicycle and went straight down the hill crashing into a tree :(
We did not find it too big.

we've been to those two as well, both good :)
Been to them all and love Center Parcs. Longleat is the largest and most hilly but the views from the boardwalk are outstanding. You'll love it!!
Only wish we could come too ... this is the first year in 8 years that we haven't been to Center Parcs cos we're saving for Florida instead!

We've been to Longleat in an Exec villa. These villas are in more central locations close to all the facilities, our villa was just a few minutes walk from the pool with no slopes. I think that the problems tend to be with the cheaper villas, which are much further away.

Thanks for your replies we feel a lot more reassured, seems our villa in is in the Fir area ??? which looks like it's pretty far from civilisation.
Ah well DW can bike our DD around while I try out an adult trike (not a very good cyclist)
you'll have to come over to longleat and say hello to me when your there, i work in one of the shops there!

We're off to Longleat one day whilst we're down there, DW freaked out when I said you could feed the animals in one part of the safari park, she thought it included the Lions (hmmm one arm or two mr lion).
We're also off to Bath one day and plan to show DW where I grew up at the old RAF Colerne base.
We went to the one at Longleat and I found the cycling a bit of a challenge as there are lots of hills, some of which you are not allowed to cycle down as they are too steep! Instead you have to follow the woodland paths which can be narrow with some very sharp turns. There is a land train though and you can always take this instead.

if you come in make sure you say hi!
Was there earlier in the year and yes it is hilly. We had a 3 bed exec villa which was at the bottom of the hill and the swimming pool bit was at the top. 72 steps - I remember them all!
