Is there an alternative to the above? I'm thinking 2 bedrooms, living area, and a small kitchen?

If they're out there, why do I find them? :confused2

Thanks all. :wavey:

Hi,
There are alternatives to villas and hotels. Try a mobile home at Palm Key , they are lovely inside and range from 1 bed to 4 beds.

There are lots of self catering options from town houses to suites. Sizes vary but you can definitely get 2 bedrooms and a small living area. Try a google search and all sorts of accomodation can be found.

Yes ~ we have one at Bahama Bay.... 3 bedrooms (for the price of 2), 2 bathrooms, 2 private patios, fab washing facilities, dining area, fully equipped kitchen and really close to the sandy beach and fishing lake.

Let me know if you need a quote :)

Sounds like you want a condo or a suite, plenty of options for both.

How about Sheraton Vistana Villages on I Drive South. They are brilliant.

See here (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=5607&PS=GWS_aa_GoogleInternational_the_sheraton_village _53006)

There are on the BA holiday site and I have seen them in a few brochures

We are staying at Cypress Pointe in a 2 bed condo (they also have 3 beds). We were originally going to opt for a villa when we were going with friends but as they pulled out we decided to look for something cheaper. These have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen with washing machine & dryer & living room. We found this on www.travelrepublic.co.uk

We have stayed in many two bedroom condos before buying our own villas. They have all been on the 192 rather than International Drive.
We have stayed in:

Liki Tiki
Parkway
Star Island
Fantasy World
Wyndam Palms - which is our favourite.

There are lots to choose from, our friends have stayed in Marriott Grand Vista, Marriot Chyprus Harbour, Sheriton Vistana to name a few.

Good luck with your hunt.

A condo (an american term for apartment or flat) could be ideal for you.

I can thoroughly recommend Bahama Bay, but there are plenty of places like that in the area. They tend to be huge with plenty of applicances (many have a washing machine and dryer) with facilities on site such as pool or pools, shops and eating places and bars.

We stayed a couple of weeks ago at Joanne's condo on Bahama Bay and it is ideal....on ground floor and very near to the restaurant and one of the nicest pools on site. It is a little further away than some resorts out on US 27 but still with 10/15 mins of Disney and half an hour of orlando. Very peaceful for relaxing on non park days.

A condo would suit you perfectly and resorts with this sort of accommodation are all around the Disney area.

I always thought Walmart would be a good option if your'e stuck ;)

Think about it - Free parking, clean toilets, open 24 hours a day, has it's own McDonalds for a nice hot breakfast, and they even had a tent set up in the camping section last time I was in.

Thanks for the replies everyone, really helpful as always. :thumbs-up

However, my wife has thrown a spanner in the works, and now fancies California now!!

So, same question, but does anyone know any condo resorts in California? LA ( Mickey of course! ) & San Diego ( got to see Shamu! )

Marriott Residence Inns might suit you.

Enclave Suites on Carrier Drive (off I-Drive) may suit.
