Need my memory jogging, what is the going rate for the shopping (and everything else) tax, some brain cells are telling me 6% but there are others that are shouting 15% at me also:confused2
Looking at the prices of tickets for Discovery Cove and it says plus tax, and I can't work out if it's cheaper to buy direct or with a ticket agency!!!:D

Hi Sharon -- Like the UK's VAT, virtually all items sold in Florida are subject to a 6% sales tax, however, unlike the UK, price tickets do NOT include the sales tax, which is added at the till.

Depending on the exchange rate, but at the moment it's cheaper to buy direct.

The higher rate you may be thinking of is the Florida hotel room tax which is I think about 12-13% of the room rate.

Thanks guys, I sort of knew there were different types of tax, just couldn't remember!!!!!
Anyway, I am thinking that I will book direct with DC as it does appear to be the cheaper option, but will have to wait til they put the 2004 prices on line.
Thanks again:thumb:
