I cant post the link but if you go onto the official WDW site and put dolphins in depth into the search box you will be able to see it. We first went in 1999 and im sure there were dolphins there then ! i think they are in the living seas.

At EPCOT it's $150 for 3 hours and your must be at least 13 years of age. Discovey Cove is much better value. Why dont you want a whole day at DC? - it is truly a magical day! And so much more than just dolphins :wavey:

Claire H did this on her last trip, and if i remeber rightly she loved it, i'm sure she would answer any questions!

It was my second time, although it had changed slightly, and I loved it :)

Lynda, the link to my trip report is here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=147993) which tells you a bit about it - don't be put off by the 'problem' with the wetsuits, I was reliably informed it was just that day they had a 'problem'. It's a great tour and they really focus on the conservation aspect. It's not as 'touristy' as some of the other dolphin tours/encounters can be, and they limit numbers to only 8 people per day (Monday-Friday). Another thing they don't do, is the actual 'swim' with the dolphin, they also leave it up to the dolphin as to how much time the dolphin wants to spend with you (don't worry, the dolphins love people so they stay for ages), it's very focussed on what the dolphin wants to do, not what they want it to do.

If you've after learning about dolphins with some dolphin time thrown in, then the Epcot tour is a good one to go with.

Discovery Cove is actually really good.
you get a half an hour lesson with the dolphin.
you learn about them and you do actions with the trainers so they do different tricks.
when you have finished with the dolphins, you can go on the lazy river, go to the avary, see baskin sharks, snorkle and loads more
trust me you wont get bored. and there is beach area where you can lay and swim.
it does coz around $100 per person though if i remember correctly.

Lynda, one thing I didn't mention is there is a minimum age limit of 13, and any 'child' under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

An added bonus is going behind the scenes of the Living Seas, it's really interesting.

I've always managed to book 12 months in advance but just seen Lynda's post and she mentions 26 weeks so it may well have changed.

Lynda - your nephew (and you) will love it, glad he enjoyed my trip report. I won't be doing it again this coming December trip but will hopefully do it again in the future.

Mick - lol, the dolphins have been there years and I believe they've been doing the tour a long time as well, it's just it's not advertised very well at all. I only found out about it back in 2004 on allears.

ok.... my DD wants to swim with the dolphins, but the £139 for basically a 30 min swim at DC seems a bit much to me.

The Dolphins in depth sounds better, but how do you book it???
I can't find anywhere to get tickets or make a booking....

any ideas??

:-)

Don't forget though that Discovery Cove is a day thing (albeit a 30 minute swim with dolphins during the course of the day), whilst Epcot's Dolphin's in Depth is around 3 hours long (and takes in the backstage area of the Living Seas) + the dolphin swim.

The number to book is 001-407-939-8687. You have to be a minimum of 13 years old to take part, and any 'children' under 18 must be accompanied by an adult also on the tour.

i did it in july with ds(15) autistic spectrum, never has anything held his attention like this, for 3 hours that is, to u/me that is like 24 hours for him, they have 4 dolphins there only two come out 1 to each 4 people, ones called, khyber and the other rameer, unsure of spelling, worth every penny, they talk to u and show u a little video on idiots feeding them(against the law in usa to feed dolphin) they talk to u about their existence/physical make up etc, it really is fascinating, the we had 35 mins in water with them, amazing experience, you get 1 photo each and t shirt at end plenty of drinks, it brought tears to my eyes as ds a different person when gently stroking them, unmissable for me, havent been to dc so cannot compare, these people who work at epcot on the dolphin experience are special u can feel there enthusiasm , brilll, also have to be 13 and if under 18 need an adult present, only 8 people per day mon/fri, u can book on this number(need credit card) 001 407 939 7529 and state would like info/to book dolphin experience at epcot, go for it bondy
