Hi. My hubby bought his "toy" from Graves R-C Hobbies. They have a website if you do a search. The place has everything and hubby was very pleased with his purchase. Have a great time.

Yes we took it as part of our luggage with Virgin, although this was before they started saying about the sizes of cases you can take in economy. If you buy any batteries with it you must put them in your hand luggage. The box wasn't that big. He has brought home 2 cars and 1 planeand we have never had any problems. With the dollar rate as it is you will probably get one within your duty free allowance. :thumbs-up :thumbs-up
Check out http://www.superiorhobbies.com/ they are in Casselberry about 30 mins drive from Disney. They have a great store and are really friendly.
What kind of thing is he after as I've found a lot of RC stuff is cheaper in HongKong and even the americans order from there. I can give you a couple of links to some of the stores i use in HongKong if your interested.

We saw one of these on the luggage conveyor at LGW last year - the box had split and the car was smashed to bits :(
If you do bring one back, tape the box shut, and if you can, put some bubble wrap round it too. The one we saw had simply been put through in its original box and was wrecked - they must have been gutted.
The 2 places I use in HongKong are http://www.rc-mushroom.com and http://www.rcmart.com rcmart also sells via ebay and his name/shop is Dinball.
I've ordered many times from both these shops and delivery take 7-10 days if you go for the cheapest delivery method and I have only been stung for duty once but my £400 order was still £50 cheaper than i could have got it in the uk.
I think the Revo is manufactured in the US so it could well be cheaper in the US.
Worth mentioning that when buying from HongKong you pay in US dollars so you still get the benefit of excellent exchange rates.

those RC look great, dont mean to sound dopey but i take it these are real engines  and how are you suppose to get the nitro back(i presume the nitro was the liqiud in the bottle)how does that work,if i went with a battery type RC would i have trouble with charging them(voltage),sorry for all the questions
Cheapest i can find it in the UK is £325 so superior Hobbies are doing it for $499 so £250.
So as long as it doesnt cost you £75 to get it home your quids in.

you buy the nitro over here
Nitro is available in the uk so you wouldnt be bringing it back with you.
Batteries are the same all over the world so its just a charger that needs to work in uk. To be honest most chargers dont work from the mains power any way they connect to either 12v power supplies or car batteries.

Where exactly is this shop at in orlando? Also, did you bring it back in your luggage, hold or hand? Did you wrap it up? Did it go through customs no problems? Sorry for all the questions but i go this week and i am wanting to buy a HPI Savage and could do with any advice you may be able to pass on!
Cheers neil
there in a place Casselberry about 30 mins drive from Disney. We used Sat Nav to guide us I imagine it would be quite hard to find without as you go through quite a few residential areas.
I'm gonna try graves rc, up the north orange blossom trail, the other one does not have the savage i want in stock :(
Have you bought a car over there? Did you bring it back hand luggage or hold?
Cheers neilp ;)

Graves is a huge model shop and you will while away several hours browsing the stock. It is HUGE and divided into sections for planes, cars, boats etc. But each section is way larger than your average UK store. To give it scale they have ready made planes for sale hanging from the ceiling. If memory serves last time I visited they had a sign saying that there were somewhere in the region of 450 planes available .
I haven't bought a car but I did bring back several aeroplane kits and all the associated paraphernalia. I just wrapped it well and checked it in with my suitcases.
Pay them a visit. if you are a modeller you'll enjoy it as much as any Disney park :-)

I would guess 40 minutes barring any snarl ups on the I4. We drove from near the I4/H27 junction and from memory it took around 45 minutes although I didn't really time the trip. We went up there, spent an hour or so meandering through the store and buying stuff, had lunch at Winghouse next door, drove back and that was the morning gone.
I only visited the shop once, subsequent purchases being been made by mail order and waiting for me when I arrive Stateside. Bonus is that that having survived the rigours of the US postal system they are well wrapped. Although I have to admit that I normally cannot resist unwrapping them, have a play, then re-wrap for the journey home
Easy to find, yes it is. Head up the I4 and take J88 which is the 423. head west until you hit the crossroads aith N Orange Blossum Trail. Take a right at the lights and Graves is maybe 50 -100 yards alonfg the road on the opposite side of the carraigeway so you'll need to d a u-turn.
This is their address. Pop it into google maps and all will become clear. 4814 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Fl 32810

it's just north of Orlando we visited on a trip out to Daytona. It came back in a suit case on its own boxed up. No problems at customs just went with everyone else through he green zone (luck i guess) not to get stopped
