Hoping someone can give me some advice about cruising
It's my hubby's 40th next year and he really would like to go on a cruise. Can anyone recommened a cruise or any ideas on where and when is the best.
I have looked at lots of ships but just get completley bogged down with the amount to chose from.
So any tips, advice or recommendations would be great.
thank you

We have booked our first one for November and have chosen Freedom of the Seas (Royal Caribbean International) as we are not 'sit by the pool' kind of travellers and like to have something to do most days.
I think you need to work out where you want to sail from first and then look at the destinations which sail from that Port.
If it doesn't matter to you which Port you sail from then figure out which destination is your favourite..
We are doing Western Caribbean but that wouldn't be my first choice ~ we are doing that because it fitted with our dates and it goes from Miami!!
There are tons of options ~ I really want to try Alaska and the Panama Canal if we like our first one...
Hope that has helped a bit but feel free to ask any other questions you may have :)

Hi, we have done a few cruises, Princess Caribbean, Grand etc and would totally recommend them, beautiful ships and great itineries, but have you ever thought about a Nile Cruise? they are fabulous, we have done three because we like them so much.
You get really good value for money, they usually are full board and all excursions are included, they are a little bit more intimate than the big ships, and you get to see so much, well worth thinking about. :cool2:

I start by where (ie itinery)? then When? then I look to see what ships are going there at that time, that usually narrows it down considerably, then I look at the ships and prices! on offer.
www.cruisecritic.com is a valuable planning tool - they have forums like on here, perhaps not as friendly though.
