Uh oh, hurricane possblts for our cruise!!

Hi Everyone,

I have just been reading about a predicted hurricane (hurricane Dean) that may affect our cruise next week on the 23rd. The weather sites seem to think it will miss Florida and the Bahamas but it is still too soon to say for definite and I have just read a long thread about it on the disboards. Please can everyone keep their fingers crossed for us and everyone else cruising (and also staying at WDW) over the next week or two!!

H. Dean is a fast moving storm and I think it will have gone through before 23rd. It is now anticipated to hit the first caribbean islands, as a category 2 in the early hours of Friday Morning. Florida should be safe from this one, although nothing is certain in weather predictions, especially with hurricane movement.

Fingers & toes crossed for you...The cruise ships do try to 'stear' away from storms & take a different route so you'll be fine!

Fingers crossed! :) We were steered away from a nasty hurricane in October 05 and ended up doing the Eastern Carib rather than Western as planned, no problems though.

'Dean' doesn't sound anywhere near that bad so I'm sure you'll be ok :)

Just been watching the news and it is saying that the hurricane has been upgraded to a Cat 4 and expecting to be a Cat 5 when it hits Jamaica. I hope everything goes ok for you. I'm sure they will make sure you are safe.

My DD s in the Navy and she phoned last night to say her Ship was sailing behind Dean and they were waiting to see what Islands it was going to hit, they were then going to give Humanitarian Aid to the people, so i won't hear from her for a wee while.
