I want to book a nights stay for the family while we are there in November. Can any one suggest who to book through and can you explain about the taxes - how much are they!

Hi,
You`d be best off booking it direct with The Hard Rock Hotel. This way it`ll be cheaper for you as you cut out the "middle man" such as a travel agent etc. You can contact The Hard Rock Hotel direct through Universal`s web site. They will give you a price and make sure you ask them to include the tax in that price!!

Unless you have access to a discount of some kind (like Universal Fan Club or Entertainment Book) you'll likely pay the full rack-rate if you contact the hotel directly. I booked my stay for this September with Expedia (when the exchange rate was grrrreat), and all taxes were included in my prepaid booking. Have a look at their site and check a few others like USARooms.co.uk to see what they've got to offer before you contact the HRH and compare.

............or if you have an AP (great value) you can get great rates with that:) PLus you get discounts at the cafes and shops in Universal/IOA too......and dont forget front of line access to the rides:)

I have to say I would disagree strongly with that advice. Occasionally going to a hotel directly may yield the best price, but in the main you will probably get better rates elsewhere, especially in the Internet age.

Ive been reading a lot abou the Entertainment card which gives you a 50% discount off the rack rate. You buy the book ...and show the card that comes with the book at check in. Ive just ordered the 2004 Orlando discount book $25 plus $10 delivery. Try ringing the hotel call 1 800 232 7827 which is 1 800 BE A STAR!! ask them first for their rack rate and then for the entertainment rate. See what the difference is...They may not have any discounted rooms at the ENT rate but good luck.

If they do buy the book!! I'l try and post a link when I find it!!LOL Also Dolphin and Swan are offering good rates with the ENT card.

request the orlando book and you can look at some of the vouchers online before you buy. No voucher for the hotel...its the card with the book they want.

Another way to get a discount is to apply for a free Loews card at www.loewshotels.com

Go to the link which is think is titled 'Loews First', you'll be able to print out a membership card and this will give you discount when you ring up the HRH direct. When I booked recently I quoted my number and they had all my details on their system.
