I am just wondering what is the best start to Animal Kingdom is it what many suggest to head for kilamanjaro safaris because the animals are out then or to go for the thrill rides, DINOSAUR and Expedition Everest???

cheers

check the info board and grab a fast pass for either the safari or everest and then do the other one.

On our last day we did AK and the safari, around lunch time and there were lots of animals around and close to the road but DH had packed the camera

Save dinosaur till later as queues not normally too bad. I would probably go for Everest myself and then get a fastpass for the safari later in the day.

ok thanks can you get a fastpass at the entrance to any of the rides or do you have to get them at the entrances of the rides themself.

you have to go right to each individual ride to get a fastpass. the last trip dh went to get fast passes from everest while dd and i queued for the safari. loads of animals are out at that time, then you can get off the safari and hit everest.

We are there primarily for the animals so we grab a fastpass for the safari and then walk the pangani forest trail next to it while its quiet, then experience the safari - then head to Asia and do the rapids and the other nature trail, and then after lunch head for Dinosaur and Everest :) xx

One of us always sprints off the get a fast pass for Everest whilst the rest of us walk over to the Safari ride. By the time the kids have looks at some of the animals and usually bought their first tattoo we all meet up at the entrance to the safari.
Early morning you tend to see lots of animals before it gets too hot.

we got a fast pass to everest and did the safari first, as it was still cool there were so many animals out its was the best we had seen. Make sure you see the lion king show too its fab.

The Unofficial guide reccomends that as soon as the park opens, one person grabs fastpasses for Everest and then heading to Dinoland U.S.A. and heading for TriceraTop Spin.

That's just one step in a 20 step Touring plan.

if you are going to AK in the maorning then go for expedition everest! go on kilomanjaro safaris in the middle of the day because they won't be up in the morning and 1 or 2 hours before the park closes on a normal day because they will be sleeping

We've always gone on the safari and picked up a fast pass, had a wander around and then by the time we go back, the animals are up and about.

We've not done Everest yet, so that's going to be our first port of call this time.

:d: :d: The animals are all up first thing in the morning! Most animals from hot climates are more active at dawn and dusk, they rest during the heat of the middle of the day, but Disney have came up with lots of little tricks to get them up and about during the day (cool resting points/salt licks etc) so you will see something no matter when you go, but generally speaking your best bit for action is first thing or last thing!

If you like animals , I'd do safari first. If you leave it till later you'll just be watching a load of animals lying down asleep
