This is one ride I regret not going on in June but need to know some more about it before I take the plunge in April.............
Can someone please describe exactly what it entails for me? :)
As a background, I am a complete coaster baby and went to IOA with my fiance (just for a couple of hours after Universal) and wandered round the shops and didnt go on a single ride...... :erm:
I can ride Space Mountain and Big Thunder but not Splash, I can ride Dinosaur but not Everest, I rode everything at Universal including the Mummy, but am terrified of heights and hate big drops and anticipation........(therefore ToT and RnR are out!!)
Do you think I could ride it?

Spiderman isn't a rollercoaster...it's a 3D motion simulator. You sit in a car, wearing 3D glasses and travel round on a track whilst the film/effects are played infront of you. It has no high drops and doesn't go fast...the idea is you're supposed to feel like you're in the middle of a scene from Spiderman.
If you don't suffer from motion sickness you'll be fine...go and enjoy it!

In a word, yes. Spider-man is fairly similar to Dinosaur, it is a 3D ride, you sit in the transporter and you have your 3D glasses on and lots goes on around you in 3D, it is fairly jerky but not too fast, the only part of the ride I think you might have a problem with is the simulated drop at the end. It is not a real drop but it can feel a bit like one. This ride is really great (so long as you can see the 3D, (I sometimes have a problem focusing on it) and I recommend it highly, I have heard people say this is the greatest theme park ride on earth, but I am not sure about that!
Have a great time
P.S. The AKL is A-M-A-Z-ing, you will love it, we are going back next year.

Spiderman is one of the best rides there is.
However, if your first in the park and you rush to this ride for gods sake dont forget to pick up your 3D glasses, when your all excited and you forget these, the ride isn't quite the same.

You will love Spidey, it's very smooth, much more so that Dinosaur, and the SFX are fantastic!

I love spiderman, I was a big chicken before I went on this and then you couldn't stop me, even went on RnR after this, it's such a fun ride, but the drop at the end does feel a bit like a real one.

You will be fine. I am not a huge fan of coasters but this is fine. My 7 year old loved it. So honestly... go on and enjoy!!

If you can go on Star Tours Spiderman will be a doddle, its a much
smoother ride and its brilliant. I'm not a massive coaster fan either
but absolutely love Spiderman.
I get really sick on many coasters - eg the HULK but have never had an issue on Spiderman - its my all time favourite.

Our absolute favourite ride in any park and a must do ride as many times as possible.
Remember if you don't like the simulated drop at the end just close your eyes because you don't actually move very much.
Personally, for me, this ride is the best of them all, because it combines so many different elements and assaults all your senses at once.
I may have dreamt this, but I remember somebody at IoA telling me it cost $250 Million to develop.
If you've never rode it before, you're in for total treat!

Maybe not the best ride on earth but i would say most probably the BEST simulator on Earth. I mean you are immersed into an episode of Spiderman....the sfx are groundbreaking and the ride whilst doe snot satisfy the 5* star thrill seeker in me amazes me everytime i ride...just the sheer leap in quality compared to ALL the other simulator type rides in Orlando.

Our joint favourite best ride with Tower of terror.
I do feel queasy after Star tours, mission space and that whirly roller coaster thing in dinoland at AK but have always felt fine after Spidey. Having b/fast with him this time too!!

This is what I do sometimes! I would highly recommend this ride tho - it's absolutely amazing and completely unlike anything else. It's worth the entrance fee for this alone.

I was white when I came off Mission Space. I'd looked forward to it for aaaaaaaaaaages too. Really thought I was going to throw up? It's put me off going on again :(

One piece of advice is do SPIDERMAN it was the best ride in Orlando as far as I'm concerned even my 8yr old who doesn't like wild coasters loved it. Just remember near the end you are not falling although it will seem like you are!
Also if you don't have express or FOTL access get there early the standby queue builds up quickly.

My DW hates coasters, but Spidey is her favourite ride, she has had me on it three or four times in a row, not that i am complaining

Can only agree with the others - its a great ride. Space mountain is worse so if you can ride that you've no problems. Its not a coaster and the 3D affect makes it great.

Spiderman is fab, I'm a wuss and I'd definitely go on again, if you can sit in the front row its ace, he lands on the hood and tells you to follow him - it blew me away!!

this ride's fantastic and should suit all coaster babies (me included  ) just shut your eyes if it gets too much.
Thanks to youtube I'm gearing myself up to going on some 'real' coasters but I'll be going on the Spiderman ride every chance we get...luckily we managed to get over the road to one of the little shops and get DDs photo taken with the man himself - they were well impressed

It is the best ride at universal, just love it, we do it at least three times when we visit.

Don't close your eyes - that will only make any motion sickness worse. It's much better if your eyes follow the show so that your body is tricked into thinking the moves are actually happening so it can keep you in check.
Same applies for Mission:Space! :D
