View Full Version : Dodgy Back and theme parks
Can any one recomend some rides that are not to harsh on the back, as the OH is panicing about being jolted around, she can stand and walk for miles but cannot be thrown about to much, (sitting (on naff seats) can be a problem too)
Cheers Matt :spin:  :d:

I think some of the roller coasters in Florida are allot more smooth than in this country.
Kraken for example I find a really comfortable ride, your not thrown about that much.

The rides which would be likely to aggravate a bad back have clear warning signs at the entrance. If you look at the riders guides for each park you will see which ones have this warning.
I have had a lower back problem (seems settled these days thankfully) and have mild spondylitis of my neck from an old whiplash injury. Both of these have the capacity to spoil a few days holiday for me if they flare up - I love the coasters though and a process of trial and error means that I can go on and really enjoy many of the big smooth coasters - Hulk, Kraken, Montu, Sheikra, Duelling Dragons etc but cannot tolerate the smaller jerky ones like Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain - I will go on them but have to grit my teeth the whole way!!!!!
Last trip for some reason Rock and Roller Coaster was painful too!
Rides like Spiderman at IoA can be more jerky than the big coasters with sudden movements that throw you about.
And of course, as a wooden coaster Gwazi was done once and will never be ridden again - that one could have meant I could not walk for a few days!!!
All of the attractions have warning notices at the entrance, mind you if you took it all in, you would not ride anything! :confused2
If this warning notice says "sudden" or "abrupt" movements then perhaps they are best avoided by your OH?
