This is the plan for we have managed to come up with. There's just the two of us, and this will be our first time in the US.

We are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel for the first part, and we are currently in dispute with Virgin about tickets to Universal - (but that's another story). We are going in May 2004 so there is (hopefully) still time to get it resolved.

My wife is disabled, and will probably "sit-out" most of the big rides.

Mon 3rd Fly from Gatwick
Tue 4th Orientation Day. Virgin "Welcome" meeting in the morning. My wife will need to rest in the afternoon, I might spend an hour or two in Hard Rock Vault.
Wed 5th Disney MGM Studios
Thu 6th Epcot
Fri 7th Rest
Sat 8th Shopping - Beltz?
Sun 9th Discovery Cove Dolphin Swim.
Mon 10th Rest - possible trip to SeaWorld if wife feels up to it.
Tue 11th Magic Kingdom
Wed 12th Universal Studios
Thu 13th Typhoon Lagoon
Fri 14th Cape Canaveral
Sat 15th Universal IoF
Sun 16th Rest - and packing
Mon 17th Drive to St Pete's
Tue 18th - Sun 23rd "Beach" Days
Mon 24th Busch Gardens
Tue 25th - Fri 28th "Beach" Days
Sat 29th Drive back to Orlando - fly back to Gatwick

We have not made any plans about where to eat yet. Character meals are not important to us, so we hope to be able to leave the decision on eating until we are actually there. Will that be a problem in May?

Grateful for any advice or comments.

The main thing I would say is have a great time. We take each day as it comes and have a rough idea of what we want to do and when.

You'll love Discovery Cove, it was the highlight of our holiday.

With regards to meals we used to see what took our fancy. We planned only one meal last year.

Belz is quite limited in choice now for shopping. Why not try eith the Premium Outlets or the Florida mall.

Your plan is looking good.

Have you sorted out your accomodation at St Pete's yet ?

The Holiday Inn at St Pete's Beach. Chosen (among other things) because it has disabled access to the pool, apparently.

My wife has conceded one day out of her "quiet" period for Busch Gardens, otherwise the deal is simple: I get two weeks in Orlando to do all the parks, she gets two weeks in St Pete's to rest and sunbathe.

And the following year we have 10 days in Skegness because we will be paying for this holiday for a long time!:D (Apologies to anyone living in Skegness).

Get your wife to go to SeaWorld - you will both love it!!

you can hand feed the dolphins and everything. I would rate it higher than some of the other parks. You get 7 days admission with Discovery Cove - you gotta take advantage of that!!!
