Hello to all you cruisers out there :wavey:
I hope someone can help me. I have booked a Cat 12 stateroom and have seen on my reservation GTY. I understand this means that I will be allocated the Cat 12 or better. I have no problem with this.
My question is from my passporter book it says there are 13, Cat 12 staterooms all on deck 2 and right under Beat Street/Route 66 club, and the book advises that on check in, to request to move as the rooms are NOISY !! . Has anyone actually stayed in one of these Cat 12 rooms ? and if so were you affected by the noise :( or was it more background noise which you didn't really notice.
All help will be really appreciated.

Hello
My mil and fil booked last mins on Cat 12 at Med - Disney Cruise and they didn't got upgrade as the cruise was full. but they said no noise but fil don't like dark and they said it was okay.
I think your time should be plenty times and might go upgrade or not.
Wait and see when 90 days and find out what room it will be okay.

We booked a cat 12 and were upgraded to a cat.10 ...right under the night club. :(
Unfortunately, DCL do not recognise 'noisy' or 'bad' cabins, so we were unable to change our allocation without paying to upgrade (that is the official line - don't think we didn't try !) - it is the risk you take when booking a gty, I'm afraid.
We upgraded ourselves to a cat9 (so glad we did) -so, I'm sorry I cannot tell you what the cabin was like...but you can find individual stateroom reports on the Dis Board website (under DCL information).
Probably best wait now and see what room you actually get allocated before you make a decision - you never know, you may even get a good upgrade to a cat9 or higher if you're really lucky.
Moral of the story - book the minimum grade you are happy to accept or be prepared to upgrade when your cabin is allocated (even though this will cost you a bit more than if you booked a higher grade to start with).
