Whispering Canyon or Mickeys Backyard BBQ?

I've been reading some trip reports and have found a couple of places i've not heard of before.

Just wondered what peoples opinions are of Whispering Canyon and Mickeys Backyard BBQ which do you recommend.

Also what is the thing with the ketchup??!!?? (naive) :confused2

Whispering Canyon is more of an interactive experience, like the Prime Time Cafe at MGM. If you ask for ketchup, you might end up embarassed. :)

I personally wasn't thrilled with the Mickeys Backyard BBQ when I've been - it seemed expensive for what it was (I know, a lot of Disney is like that!) I do enjoy the Hoop De Doo, though. :)

Thanks - i've been pointed in the direction of the restaurant reviews on the home page of the Dibb ( i didn't know about those!) and have some to the same conclusion - Prime time looks really good too!

we did whispering canyon last year and are going back this year, also doing BBQ this year, last time we did that was 92.
Canyon was really good, food fantastic, and...well , you got to ask for ketchup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, another vote for Whispering Canyon! However we have not done the Mickeys BBQ. The food at Whispering Canyon is excellent as is the service and interaction. The interaction is not guaranteed, it depends what sort of a mood the waitresses are in. I would advise to go in a Universal or Sea World T Shirt though, I dare ya!! :pgig:

We took my 19 year old son who was not expecting this experience, he walked out with around 30 drinking straws in his hair that the waitress had put in, he look like a human ker-plunk!
