Refillable Mugs

1.Are these to be used only in the resort where they were purchased or can they be used throughout Disney

2.Is it not right that each time you go to Disney that you should buy a new one,lets face it 12 or 13 dollars is not a lot to ask.

can only be used on the day of purchase and the park purchased.

but fantastic value.

ps watch for the wasps at the filling stations

you buy a mug when you get through the gate at disney water parks and you can refill them as many times as you like but only on that day

You then need to buy a barcode for subsequent days at the waterparks but they can be used in both. You can also buy a refillable mug in AK. Refills cost $1

If you stay onsite at a Disney hotel you buy a mug and that can be refilled for free for the length of your stay. Cost is approx $12. Hot and cold refills (eg Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Coke, Sprite, etc) are all offered

Since the design of the mugs changed to the Year of a Million Dreams you are now able to use your mug at any of the resorts. You do not have to use it only at the resort you purchased it.
You should purchase new mugs at Disney for each trip. However if you purchase mugs at US, IOA or Seaworld you can reuse them year after year. :thumbs-up

Some hotels are still selling the old style mugs! We were most disappointed that Coronado Springs didn't have any of the YOAMD mugs available! A couple of other places we visited still had the old ones too!
When we checked-in at CSR we asked where to buy the mugs from and the reception told us she didn't know much about them and called a Manager over! He told her that they are only for length of stay at the resort you bought them from, but if they all change to YOAMD how would they know? :confused2

Thats not very good is it. :nonono: The last i heard the Contemporary still had the old mugs but no mention of any other hotels.
Disney are actually allowing you to use the mugs at all the resorts if they have the YOAMD design. I think that they realise there is no way they can police it if the design is the same.

If they have the old design then technically they are for length of stay. Some people do reuse them and nobody bats an eyelid but i would feel uncomfortable doing it, DH wouldn't!! :d:

You can get them at the Disney hotels and waterparks. The Disney parks don't have them although i read a thread recently and someone said they got a refillable mug at AK. But i have never seen one.

You can get refillable mugs at Seaworld, US, IOA and Busch Gardens though.

I think the cost varies between around $6-$12 for the mug at Universal as there are different ones and the Disney resort mugs are around $12.

I can't remember how much the waterpark mug was but you can buy it at Typhoon Lagoon and use it at Blizzard Beach also. You just take the mug back and get a barcode for it that costs around $5.
