Hi :wavey:
OK - having decieded that we would prefer Alligator Bayou, as we like peace and quiet, I have looked at many room pictures on here and TripAdvisor and have come to a conclusion.........
I don't like the AB rooms with dark blue covers - I am just not a fan of the colour - I know, it sounds silly  , but we like light airy rooms and I really fancy the rooms in AB, that have light creamy white/blue/pink/patchwork type quilts, as they look lighter. Am I mad??? Which rooms, therefore, or block, would have these colourings - anyone? :d:
PS - Yes, I am bonkers......but I just want everyone to be happy  :wavey:
Unfortunatly, you may be bonkers but you are also going to be disappointed. The light beige covers are from before the rooms were renovated, and the bright blue is from after renovation. I think the entire resort has now been renovated.

Oh no - they looked so pretty!!! Oh well, must stop being so silly I guess.........only a place to lay my head! :d: :d: :d:
The one downside of the AB is that the inside of the rooms are perhaps not as 'pretty' as the Mansion Buildings. The actual contents are identical, they just look a bit more 'rustic' in design (which could be read as dowdy if you didn't 'get' what they were trying to do).
Also, due to the themeing with all the vegetation and trees around, the rooms can get quite shaded at times which also makes them a little darker than some of the Mansion Buildings rooms.
Oddly enough, the one thing I keep noticing in pictures of AB rooms is that the carpet looks dull. How odd is that?

We stayed at AB a few years ago, we had adjoining rooms with another couple.
Our was a mid terrace room and we did find our room was quite dark actually, even with the old style rustic colours....BUT the couple we went with had a corner room, and this was considerably lighter, as it had an extra window at the side and although it was the same size (I think) it always seemed so much bigger.
This part of the resort was lovely and quiet and very pretty.
Hope this helps :thumbs-up
We've had 2 corner rooms, and one mid-terrace room, in our 3 various stays at Mods, and the corner rooms are definitely much brighter and just feel nicer inside (although they are no bigger).
i don't know if you can request one, but I don't suppose it hurts to ask upon checkin if any are available.

Yes - I will request a corner room definately. I know the Mansions look more 'posh' and the bayou rooms are supposed to be more rustic - I think they looked much better with the creamier bedspreads, considering some of the rooms are very dark apparently, due to the foliage. Having said that - I love peace and quiet and nature, so Alligator Bayou it is...Building 14 if I can get it!! :wavey:
