From what I can remember there were lots of toys, towels, clothes, xmas baubles (the garland type ones), cushions and things like that...all offered (I think at 70% off original price which is deducted at the till) and yes it is restocked each day but if last year is anything to go by the best stuff soon go!!! We got lovely Tinkerbell & Winnie the Pooh towels.

I'd love to know how you find out the dates too...I know we're not going back for a heck of a long time but the DW wants to go to Celebration anyway and this would be another good reason to go.

For directions, just head into Celebration and follow the signs - it's so well signposted, you can't miss it... Have fun...

Celebration keeps a calendar of events on their website. I take a look frequently to see what the community is doing. That is how I found the dates.

Celebration Front Porch Newsletter (http://www.celebration.fl.us/)

It is described as:

Boxes and boxes filled with top quality Disney collectables, clothing, toys, jewelry and more - all at liquidation prices! This is a great place to start your holiday shopping.

I went to the sale last night and did pick up a few things. We got there at about 5:50 and the sale started at 6:00. There was probably at least 200 in the queue to get in. They opened promptly at six and the madness began!!!!

Basically, things are just stacked in rows and you have to be quick to go up and down the isles....at least with clothing. Having said that if you are after that type of thing I would go straight for it as many of the things I saw in peoples hands were not there by the time I made it to that side of the room.

The discount is 70% off of everything. The discount is taken at the end of the transaction so don't be alarmed when you see full price going in at the till. My discount was just over $90 and I paid $40 for 16 items. I ended up with hair clips, t-shirts, mickey ear alice bands, xlarge mickey mug, tink pillow, princess toy, etc.. It truly was a hodge podge of stuff to pick from. They even had badges for the collectors. My DH laughed saying he'd like to do a quick search on E-bay for these items to see how quickly the numbers go up as clearly this was the intent of some people.

I snapped two pictures as we were standing in the queue to pay. Not a great photo but it gives you the idea.

It is important to say that 10% of the proceeds goes to the two schools within Celebration. We spoke to a lady volunteering last night and she said last year each school received just over $8,000 each. It is a great event for the school and something we would do again.

I went on the Sunday morning (forgot about it the first two days) and didn't find much to buy....NOT! So I only spent $200, which at 70% off would have been nearly $700. Mostly sweatshirts, tees, deluxe pins and colouring stuff for Lucy. It filled two bags, anyway. Well worth going next time anyone's there when they have another sale.

If we are staying on-site at disney, without a car is it easy or far to get to. We go in April and sounds like a good way to buy some things to fetch back and save money :)

You would need a taxi (or a lift if any other DIBBers are going) as Celebration town is about 15-20 mins drive from Disney, and the local school hall won't be on the tourist bus routes.

Hi
We went to the sale on the Saturday bought christmas decorations, 'The incredibles' goodies , pirates of the carribean figures, hoodies, t shirts colouring books I even got a lovely snow globe from Animal Kingdom and loads of other stuff for presents to take home. When we got to the till my DH face was turning green when he saw the till price the lady explained that 70% was taken off after. We got approx £170 worth of stuff for just over £50.
We took a taxi from All Star Movies it cost about 25$ the taxi driver dropped us at the wrong side of the school but everyone seemed to be having a yard sale so we got some bargains there as well ,Disney base balls for 1$ brand new, we even saw our taxi driver with a box of stuff from the yard sale.
We walked back into the town to try and find a taxi back and had a sit on the lake side on the rocky chairs looking for allagators, didn't see any too hot. Enquired in the book shop how to find a taxi and was directed over to the lovely hotel where we had another sit down out of the heat and they ordered us a taxi, a large 12 seater turned up and took us back to the hotel the same price as a regular taxi. :wavey: :wavey:

We usually go early Sept, just as the schools go back and every year but this one is has been sooo quiet in the parks. We were even allowed to stay on TT and go round again once as there was no one waiting  .

This year we went on 17th Sept for 3 weeks and thought it was really busy. There were 40+min queues for almost everything and we had to do fast pass for practically anything we wanted to go on. We couldn't even get FPs for Soarin some days as they were all gone. We didn't know about the DDP dates and found out afterwards that it ended on 27th Sept, which was just about the time the parks seemed to quieten down. It was still busier than usual but much quieter than the previous 2 weeks. We are planning to arrive 28th Sept next year - just as DDP finishes! Hope it works........

Trouble is there are still some free DPP hangers-on as the plan continues during the whole stay, even if you check in on the last day of the free offfer.

They usually have the sale twice a year (April & October) but this is an event scheduled by the schools in Celebration as it is their fundraiser. Keep an eye on their community calendar and events listings as they will post it there. I will be sure to post about it when I see it if someone doesn't beat me to it.

True, but it's not as bad as the 'official' time. We definitely noticed a difference after the end date. Just don't stop me getting on Test Track   !!!!
