Is it worth paying the extra for Club Level at the Hard Rock Hotel?
We want to stay 1 night, mainly to get the FOTL passes but also because it looks a lovely hotel and it's something different. We will be staying in a villa for the other 16 nights of our holiday.
Looking to be there the night of 23 March (Easter Sunday). I know it will be busy but hopefully with the passes we should be okay and we can always pop back to the hotel if it gets too mad!
Because we are going at Easter the rates are really high - $359 + tax for a standard garden view room. I will try and get a AAA rate when they are released to reduce this a bit!
A club level room is $484 + tax. Is it worth it? I am a member of Loews first - what is the chance of a complimentary upgrade if I book a garden view room? I'm thinking not very likely as it is peak season.

Thanks Keith - read your review and sounds like you had a great time! Congrats on getting the upgrade. Glad to hear it does happen.
From your report I saw you paid $260 (+tax) for the room with the AAA discount. Do you happen to remember what the rack rate was? Just wondered how big the AAA discount could be.
Also, you said you went for a swim on check out day, what time is check out/does the pool open? Normally in hotels we're lucky to be out of the room by a 10.00am check out - never mind going for a swim beforehand!

Tbh i cant remember but i no it was at least a $50+ difrence of with aaa rate , think club level was $360 without tax with AAA rate from what i can remember.
Check out was 11am but got a late checkout for 12, pool was open at 8am i think, but you could use everything in the hotel pool ect gym for showering after the park and changing, apart from club level once you checked out your key wont let ya back up. We left for the parks about 12 the next day. Once checked out we left our bags in the storage area untill we came back from the parks which was about 10.30pm as we had met friends that where with us on hols. So 2 of us went back to the hotel to pick up our bags the rest stayed at city walk, then got the rickshaw from the hotel back to our friends at citywalk as they had the car parked at city walk. Then went back to the villa...whishing we could have stayed longer     , we will be back for sure and for longer
Can you please tell me what exactly do you get for the club room?
Not worth me booking club level if you can't use it on the last day after check out, I'm only staying one night.

I'm surprised that HRH won't let you use the club level after check out, since RPR does. We used the club level at HRH in May 07 to get some drinks and cookies after check-out. We will find out next weekend when we check out again from HRH.

We could use the club level at HRH after checking out. You wont be able to get in your room after check out, but can still use ALL the facilities. :wavey:

You ca use it as soon as you check in. We checked in at 8.30 ish and whilst the room was not ready, we were given our keys to get to the club level and use at FOTL in the parks.

Stayed club level at the HRH hotel a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it.
We had breakfast after checking in about 10:00 and enjoyed the free drinks each night.
I thought they had quite a good selection for breakfast. Normally two types of donuts, two types of pastrys, 2-3 kinds of bagel, cereal and fruit. Along with coffee, orange juice and apple juice.
I also enjoyed the night time offerings. They always had cheese and crackers, and vegetables and dips, then two hot offerings. When we were there it was vegetable spring rolls and beef ravioli one night, and chicken wings and little beef pastrys the other night. They had a choice of red, white or Rose wine and a few varieties of beer but I only remember Corona as that's what DH drank.
One thing I didn't realise before going is that you are supposed to tip the club staff when they get you a drink. I always tip at bars over there but hadn't thought about tipping in the lounge, DH had to go back to the room to get cash as we hadn't brought any with us!

We were club level at RPR and we didn't tip! I didn't even think! Feel bad about it now after reading this

fionagee- I didn't know either. It was only when my DH went and got drinks the first time we realised everyone else in the lounge was tipping. They had a tip jar on the counter for you to put it in.
Citywalk- I don't know exactly but think we gave a couple of dollars for two drinks. I watched a few others tip and they seemed to give around $5 for 4-6 drinks, so I figured we were in line with them.
