DVDs are region coded, so you need to know if your DVD player is region free or not. A quick google of the model number of your DVD player should turn up the answer.
I would check Amazon.com to see if lost is out on DVD yet - if it is, I would expect them to have it

I would check on-line first as well. It might be cheaper to get it online anyway, so find a price to compare with when you go to the States.

Hi Griswald,
Series 3 of lost is due out on the 11th Dec, but to be fair you'd be better off buying them from Play.com, i get most of my dvd's from there and there's a link to the usa site too.

It's out on the 22nd October here, so no need to wait for the US release two months later!

Usually its expensive like Panasonic and Pioneer players that won't change their settings to region free, but the cheap players from the supermarkets are mostly very easy.

you can unlock nearly 99.9% of dvd players on the market and always have been able to from the first time they were built....the site i have posted above is excellent...every dvd player in my house (i have 6 don't ask me why) are region free

I wouldn't say its was 99% that can be hacked but the vast majority can.
AVforums (http://www.avforums.com/forums/index.php) is also a great site for hacks
Try hacking before you buy in the US
