Im thinking of going for a week on my own (mum having DD) for the first time in 5 years for a total break (hard working single mum).

I was thinking Goa - any thoughts anyone??

We went to Goa as a base for travelling the rest of India for our 30th wedding anniversary, I was surprised how many single girls there were doing all the other places we went too Agra, Jaipur, and Mumbai
It is a really nice place, very cheap and relaxing, make sure you go to
Ashanti, you get to stay in mud huts for the night and being so close to the elephants is a lifetime memory. :)
I have travelled a lot on my own, Egypt, Hong Kong, just have that
6th sense about you and you will be ok.
Have a fabulous time.

Have a look at Kerala , it's a much nicer part of India and not so commercialised, we toured round Kerala and then stayed at The Leela hotel for a week, absolutely beatiful.
