Help on New York please!

Hi

I know this is on wrong thread but thought more people may see it.
Looking to book New York for 3 nights at end of January in basic hotel. Cheapest I have found is Expedia at £670 for two people including basic hotel and flights indirect. Does any one know of any cheaper companys? Does travel city doirect do 3 nights?

when we stayed in NYC we stayed at the wellington hotel, it was pretty basic but a great location, just up from times square and next to carnegie hall with subway and bus stops right outside and a good on site restaurant and deli accross the street, have a look there, for flights have you lookes at United or I think Globespan fly to NYC now?

Is that 670 each or for the two. If its for two I cant see you finding it much cheaper than that.

Like florifan, we stayed in the Wellington hotel too. I think it is one of the best hotels for a good deal. Perhaps you could look at their website as you can book the hotel direct, and with the dollar rate so strong you might get a good deal.

I'm looking to do same type trip but early Jan...Best site I'v found is Travelocity....They have some good prices inc. direct flights, you just have to play around with dates!

Try orbitz they have really good deal on,i am going in two weeks time and have booked everything seperate we are flying with american airlines out and contentail back and have booked to go with marriot marqui in times square for two days at a grand cost of 138 each since there is 13 of us i think we have got a bargain.

we stayed at the New Yorker its very near Macys and 3 blocks from The Empire State when we looked out our bedroom window the Empire State Building was looking at me what a site some pics on my photos if you want to have a peep

We stayed at the Milford Plaza which is just off Times Sq and I mean.... just off it literally. The location is excellent!

Try orbitz they have really good deal on,i am going in two weeks time and have booked everything seperate we are flying with american airlines out and contentail back and have booked to go with marriot marqui in times square for two days at a grand cost of 138 each since there is 13 of us i think we have got a bargain.
Thanks for the tip Corrinda..I'm looking into Orbitz, they do seem to have some great prices although i cant get it as cheap as yours!!
Have you booked flights and hotel through Orbitz?
Did you book recently(as in last minute) or a while ago?

Hi sally i booked last week,did flights myself and accomadation,got the rate of 311 plus taxes at marriot marquis in time square which is fab location and have looked on trip adviser,seems fab place so room was cheapest i could get for new york ,worked out 176 a room with rollaway,then flight was 53 out with american airlines mco-lga,then flights back are from ewr-mco for 34.10 all included taxes,have got minibus transfers my self costing both ways 80 between the 13 of us,and i am just going to book open topped bus for 2 day for 25 for adults and 20 children which includes boat cruise past statue of liberty and brooklyn bridge,so it does work out cheaper to book it all yourself,with flights and acccomadation it has worked out 138 each and then for another 30 each i will have statue of liberty covered ,empire state building,ground zero,central park to see were john lennon was murdered as morbid as that sounds but we are only there two days so want to see what we can,and of course the rockkafella centre probably spealt it wrong though lol.hope this helps.It does help to book asap for i booked night flight and already it has gone up from 34 to 89 so if you are happy with price book it.All direct flights.

new york was fantastic when we went - you need longer though - travelocity is good and reliable

another vote for the Wellington here - we had wireless internet too which was good!

Couldn't fault it for location!

Sorry...Just realised your going from Orlando...I'm wanting to go from London To NYC!!!
Still, Orbitz do have some good rates for us too, although every time i look, the price changes!! :confused2

Thats the only thing with orbitz they can change every day,but they do have good prices ,have you treid airline network as well.
