Has anyone eaten here recently and if so what was it like (the menu looks great, especially for the kids). I know it's had mixed reviews in the past though but wondered if it has changed.

Also if you opt for the Fantasmic Package here how does the menu choice differ from the normal menu?

Thanks

Hi we were on the ddp and went to this resturant in aug/sep this year and really liked it the food was delicious, you definately wern't rushed and the fatasmic package was ideal. I didn't notice that the menu changed for the fatasmic package however it may do. There was still pleanty of delicious options if it did. I would recomend this resturant as it one of my favourites too! I hope you enjoy your trip!!!!!!! :)

Yes we ate there last month, our trip report on that day is here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=169927). We didn't like it here at all; the service was extremely slow, our server was very rude ("pass me your plates" and just plonking our cutlery down on one side of the table as he was too lazy to walk round). Mum and I had the chicken spaghetti meal and apart from the chicken it was cold. The kids meal was OK for DS2. The menu is the same for the package as the regular menu.

We did not enjoy our meal here either on our last visit. The pasta was over cooked the rest of the food not great and unfortunately the service was poor. We are not tempted to try it again.

I have never been mind you but just don't fancy the menu. Now the 50's prime time in the same park is lovely. We had a lamb hot pot two years ago and it was lovely. The sweets are gorgeous too. Plus our waiter (uncle) was the spit of Robbie (Gorgeous) Williams. It made it all the better. :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

oh no really, not good. I've just changed an ADR for Turf Club to Mam Melrose as I thought the kids may find Turf Club boring. Maybe I better change back! :(

OThers I've considered (if we can get an ADR this late) are:

Chefs de France
Kona (again)
Sci Fi
50's Prime Time (after teh above comment!) :P

Any comments on these please?

Thanks

I'm booked on fantasmic package at Mama Melrose in Nov - bit discouraging if the service is bad. Now thinking about changing.

We went to Mama Melrose last Friday and I have to say the meals and the service were excellent
There were a couple of miserable looking servers about but ours, Richard, was very cheerful and attentive (not bad looking either  )
We also had the Fantasmic Package and the menu was the same as the normal one
Hope that helps :spin:

I just got a call from Disney tonight to tell me they're putting on 2 shows for Fantasmic the night we're going and to let me know that if my dinner reservation runs late, I can go to the 2nd show (8pm). I used the opportunity to change my booking from Mama Melrose to the Brown Derby. Hope I've picked the right one!:confused2:wave:
Doesn't half make your holiday seem closer when Disney calls you!

We ate at Mama Melrose's in August this year and it was fantastic. However, we were with the Backstage Magic Tour group, don't know if that made a difference.

Brown Derby is gorgeous though - good choice! We didn't eat there this year, just cos we didn't fancy anything off the menu, but we have eaten there the previous 2 times and its fantastic. We had the same waiter both time (2 years apart) and he was great.

Hope you have a great time!!
