I know it's not really restricted to Orlando...but I kept meaning to get one last time we were there just to find out but forgot.
Has anyone had one? What are they? they must be partially made of corn at least...what are they like, how are they served?

I'm not a fan I'm afraid. It's a hot dog sausage surrounded by a type of corn bread - hence the name. I've always thought that corn bread was quite sweet tasting - a bit like sponge cake.
So ......... sausage in sponge cake is how I describe them. Not something I will be repeating.

oh...ok...I got the 'corn' reference now, I missed that when I read the first reply.
but...a sausage in sponge cake?!!? erm...it's not winning me over. But, it's one of those things, I've wanted to try them for ages...as horrible as a greasy sausage in sponge cake sounds I might just have to try one...just to say I have...
...one thing I won't be trying out there is something I noticed next to the gorgeous beef jerky - pigs trotters!?!

The Corn dog is a hot dog coated in cornbread batter and deep fried in hot oil, although some are baked. Almost all corn dogs are served on wooden sticks, although the original corn dog was not.[1]
In the United Kingdom and some other countries it is rarely served and is virtually unheard of apart from on imported American television shows.

They sell them in some of the parks too, we liked them, you can really tiny corn dogs too, size of our coctail sausages. Worth giving them a try.
