Question re: taking my nephews to DLP

DH and I are taking my nephews to DLP for the October half term :confused2 Slightly nervous but we'll survive!!

My question is, do I need a letter from their mum as they have a different surname to us? We are going on the Eurostar.

I would take one, just in case one of then is ill even if you don't need it for passport control.

I'd definately take a letter with you that's named & signed & gives you permission to take them out of the country & to act in a medical emergency.
