What exactly is a chilly dog, is it very hot (spicy). Also could anyone describe a philly cheese steak - is it a burger, an actually steak, a sandwich?
I might have to try both next time. :tounge:

A chilli Dog is a hot dog sausage covered in Chilli con carne, usually with a sprinkling of grated cheese and/or onions although they are optional. Very nice and one of my favourites for a quick snack.
I think the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich is thinly cut steak (minute steak) with slice of cheese and other stuff in a sandwich, but i may be wrong on that one.

a chilli dog is an ordinary hot dog with chilli mince poured over it - a philly cheese steak is sliced steak and cheese served in a french bread type roll (served hot): for years i thought it had the philadaelphia cream cheese in it like we get here, actually it can be any sort of cheese as i realised when i eventually ate one!

the Philadelphia cheesesteak, Philly cheesesteak, or steak and cheese is a sandwich principally of thinly sliced pieces of steak and melted cheese on a long roll. A cheesesteak without cheese is locally called a steak sandwich, or a Philly Steak in other parts of the country.
The cheesesteak is a comfort food for natives of the Philadelphia region. It was invented in the city in 1930

phily cheese stake sandwiches...gorgeous and as described in the replies already posted.
This has prompted a funny memory for me though - we tried to order two whilst in the food court at Belz. The young lad we ordered them from passed the order on to his Mexican assistant...only problem was he didn't speak any english...holding up two fingers the young lad kept repeating, slowly, to his assistant:
"two...phily...cheese...stake...sandwiches" (reminded me very much of Manuel from Faulty Towers)
after a while of looking quite perplexed his assistant dissappeared out the back and eventually returned with four fish fingers - to which the young lad slapped his forehead and said in exasperation "not fish sticks...phily cheese...ah forget it.." and went and got them himself - hehe free entertainment...
